Michael will officially be 1! I can't believe it. A day of many emotions, but more proud than anything. HE MADE IT!

My little 2lb 10 oz boy - 1 day old and the first time I held him.

He was 2 weeks old here - 3lbs - gives you and idea of how small he was.

My big boy!

You are the CUTEST little thing ever & I know you're Mommy is SOOOOOO proud of you and loves you SOOO much!! I remember reading her posts about your scary entrance into this world, but we were all scared for nothing b/c you proved to be a FIGHTER!! And you are SUCH a big boy now!! Hunter wants to grow up to be just as brave and strong as you are! Have a great day sweet boy!

Happy Birthday to Michael!!

He was a tiny little peanut. Your first 2 pictures gave me shivers and made me think of a picture my sister took of when my niece was born. Meg was 1lb, 9oz at birth and was smaller than the size of my BIL's hand. She's a spunky/feisty 5-year-old now!! Though, she's still a tiny girl- only wearing size 2T!

Happy birthday, Michael and congrats, Kristine. My oldest son had to wear a helmet when he was a baby too. It was heartbreaking at first, but I was happy when it was over. I looked forward to that 1 hour out of the 24 when we could remove it. I painted and put stickers all over his too and saved it for him along with the molding they made of his head. Michael's is cute. Is he wearing it for positional plagiocephaly?

They sure grow up fast. Before you know it, he'll be 10!

LOL I don't think that ever ends..but boy they are sure worth it aren't they?!

Michelle..yes he is wearing it for plagiocephaly. When first diagnosed I cried my eyes out for a number of reasons but then realized how common it is and after going through the hassle of getting it approved by insurance and finding a local company that would take my insurance I was ok. I had a girl paint it, Michael has no issue wearing it and I too love that 1 hour of "off" time. Gosh does their head stink. LOL. He will probably have it on through January. I plan to keep it as a momento and will put it on a shelf with his mini-Eli Manning football Jersey

when he's older he can decide if he wants it or not.

yes, I do remember the funk and I remember how dirty the inside would get. Putting it outside in the sunshine seemed to help some. Connor's reason for wearing one wasn't a positional problem. His helped alot, but he'll always have a funky headshape and the type of haircut makes a different for him. There was a little boy in his playgroup who wore one for positional plageocephaly and afterwards, he had a perfect head shape.
