3 Sad Seniors
Remember the 3 sad Seniors?
Well this morning I recieved this update on them Hey, everybody! Here is the latest update on my three boys. They are not really three sad seniors anymore. I started to send some pictures of the skin lesions and the area on Marshall's right hip where he has the deep, large infection. And Finn still looks a little shabby where he had his shave. And various other medical problems that will be dealt with. I changed my mind. My babies are so much more than the physical problems that they arrived with. They are brave, courageous dogs who are trying desperately to overcome the horrible past they all have had. They are beginning to trust me. When I come home from work, they are right there with the rest, wiggling and wagging their tales and trying to get my attention. They no longer sleep curled up in little balls, they stretch full-length on their stomachs. They have chosen a place in the living room to be their corner. But they (well, Rusty) wanders all around until he finds something that looks comfortable. For the past 2 days, he has wound up on the couch. At first, he would run when I walked into the room. Now he just lays there and looks at me. He gives me a chance to yell at him, and when I don't, he lays back down. He doesn't stay long, but for him it is great big step. Finn is so quiet. He is like a little ghost, always there beside or behind me. When I stop, he leans against my leg. He sleeps beside of my bed, but soon, I believe he will be in it. He has only wagged his tail a few times, but he is beginning to want to be with me all the time I am home. He is a little quieter and more reserved than the other 2. All of the babies are eating good. They have great appetites. And they love anything I give them. They are beginning to like this house stuff. They try their best at the vet's office but they don't like it. Rusty escaped today, and almost scared me to death! He stayed 2 ft. away from me, but he didn't try to run away. When I opened the car door, he went over and got in. More than ever, I think these boys deserve the best that I can give them. They are trying so hard to overcome the horrors they must have suffered before. It is amazing that the even want to trust another human. They are making tremendous progress every day. I feel honored that they let me be part of their lives. These pictures are new. You can see how bonded the 2 labs are. I laughed so hard when they tried to share a bed. I have more pictures, some of Finn, and I will send them out by Fri. Just keep us in your prayers. Lou and the three "sad" seniors
