Why I like dog shows, LOL

Just got back from a weekend away at dog shows. The shows were a mixed bag - no new OTCH points, but another UDX leg yesterday (she’s now 2 away from her UDX2). Both yesterday and today she was one silly error away from 2nd in Utility B, and today she won a run-off for 4th place in Open B with a 197+ (the three dogs ahead of her are all going to Nationals in march).

Despite not having a ton of success it was a wonderful weekend, because I went down with friends, and we went out to dinner both nights, followed by the hotel jacuzzi! Nice change from my everyday life, LOL.

Win or not, one always head home with their Best in Show. :-)

Sounds like a fun weekend, I always pack my bathing suit when I travel, in case there is a pool and jacuzzi!

Sounds like you had an overall good weekend with friends and quality time with your girl, the Leg is a bonus. Just debating with a friend tonight about heading off to a show we normally go to in April. Scout doesn't "need" anything, they don't offer a Baby Puppy class for Trigger, but it's a chance to get away for the weekend and spend some quality time with the boys and dog friends. We're both undecided, although she's got hotel reservations and i'd be taking Scouts trailer. This year is hopefully more of a hunt test year anyway. But it's so nice to spend a weekend away at a dog show!

I've always enjoyed going, mainly as a spectator, to see the other breeds, and I always met the nicest people (for the most part). I'm looking forward to getting back into showing with Brooks.
