I always wear a nice collared shirt and pants. It's never been 85 plus for a show so far. I'll probably run to the mall tomorrow (yuk) and find some lightweight pants.

As for the walk in like you own it, no problem. I was an air traffic controller for almost 30 years, I know how to bury nerves and fear. One of the ladies who was in the first rally class Bruce and I did, at our first trial she said "I can't believe how calm you are". I told her I was calm on the outside and freaking out on the inside!!! LOL!

i second (or fifth...) the lightweight pants. Those very lightweight khaki pants that are impossible to crease, and dry super-fast etc. are nice and cool, and will sort-of match Brooks. Have your shorts with you and change into them when you're not going into the ring.
A lady here has blacks and yellows she competes with. She dashes off between dogs to change pant colours for each dog... same top and shoes, but khaki or black depending on the dog.
now i need to go get some chocolate brown pants!

There is a circle of judges here in the NW who giggle about stuff like that! Sorry but I really don't think matching the dog works in most well lit rings with seasoned judges.

I used to be sure to have a nice pair of white sneakers though as I do think it helps the younger more novice dog to pay attention to your footwork. In reality, if your dog's attention is focused on your face where you'd like it to be, the shoes won't really be that much help either!

I’ve been told by several judges that I’m friends with, that matching the dog does work, but only with black dogs, LOL.

Which since that’s all I’ve ever shown, means I’ve been wearing black pants and black running shoes to show in for years. I doubt I’ll even try to match with the pups - aside from anything else they are two different shades of yellow. What am I going to do - bring 3 pairs of pants to a show?

And even blacks have shades of black.... I have a couple w/ that mahogany / choc undercoat. Then there is Mata w/ the mouse grey undercoat. Nahhhhhhh, I am not that desperate to wear black as the dried slobber is far too noticeable by the end of the day!
