Barry wasn’t kidding about the ticks at the dog show!

The lady crating next to me pulled 3 off of her dog after one trip outside to potty. I thought I felt one crawling on me on the way home, but I brushed it off so now it might be somewhere in my car - if I wasn’t imagining it, LOL. Now I’ve got the creepy-crawlies!!!

Mixed bag for Chloe today - 3rd in Utility with a decent 196.5, but NQ’d Open (see, it even happens to experienced dogs ;-) ) because she either misjudged the broad jump or didn’t put enough effort into it due to the heat and her trailing foot whacked the last board. Nice class otherwise, so I am not at all unhappy with her - it was miserable today. 90+ degrees out and no A/C in the building.

Hate those buggers, the ticks that is. Sounds like a tough time with the heat.

Remind me again. We do this for the fun of it, right?

When we went from NV up to Oregon once for a HT, the host club let everyone know that the ticks were just thick there. They told us that conventional repellent was useless. What they told us to get was called...

Centaura Insect Repellent for Horse and Rider. Made by Farnam. We had to go to a Farm store in the area to get it. Now I notice you can get it on line. Since we don't have ticks here (much) I have not seen it retail locally.

I must tell you it worked. No one in our group had any ticks on us. Of course the locals had us so spooked we practically bathed in it.

Yes. At least the home club used/uses it on all theirs and we did on ours. I did not clear it with a vet, though.
