Conformation?
Can anybody give me a link or a site address (if there is one ) that has pics of the top winning labs from the 90's onwards - trying to do some pedigree research and I've got a gap in the 90's!
You might want to call AKC, they should have records of rankings since the rankings are due to wins at dog shows. Which are AKC events.

Thanks for all the tips, labs are much harder to research than Shepherds, there is less pedigree info available on the older stock.
I've only ever had chocolates and so have never researched yellows, and so now it's info on yellow lines I'm looking for mainly. By coincidence I was having to explain yesterday why I wouldn't allow my choc boy to be used on their yellow bitch, they weren't impressed by my genetic reasons (Dudley etc) but were not happy when I said they would all be black puppies anyway - I'm sure they didn't believe me! Why bring pups into the world if you can't even be bothered to find out the most basic genetics beforehand - sigh...........
As someone who has had all 3 colors (even in the same litter) let me be clear.... There are FAR worse things than a Dudley!!! I'd not hesitate at this point to put a chocolate w/ a yellow personally. Dudley is cosmetic. Far worse, imo, are all the health issues that people are putting the blinders on with! TVD KILLS, yet how many are breeding into the same flavor of the month winning show dog who is known (or should be known) to have produced the condition? I'm now hearing/ seeing more hip issues because people are ignoring the importance of waiting on final hip clearances and/ or ignoring all the holes in vertical pedigrees. Then there is working ability, which isn't a given, and sadly, it continues to be ignored by a large faction of breeders.
So when you ask about the top labs of the 90's or 2000's, I'd encourage you to dig deeper into the health (good luck w/ finding those who share the negatives too!) and working ability. I know who I have liked, but they'd not likely win under most of the show judges in the ring today. Anne

Plus if the bitch owner tested her yellow and she didn't carry chocolate, you wouldn't get any yellow's with NBP anyway. I probably wouldn't have turned down a stud service based on color. CLEARANCES and qualifications of the breeder (first time breeders can be a handful since they have no clue) would have been more of my criteria. So now knowing your question was breeding related "top" anything doesn't really interest me when reviewing a pedigree. Solid clearances, knowing kennel names and if they produce sound dogs, working ability, things like that are more important.

Did you find the pedigrees for the names? Are they American? If so, I sometimes use Orthopedic Foundation for Animals as a pedigree research tool. Orthopedic Foundation for Animals
or list the names here and I will have a go. Or just get an online AKC pedigree, at their listed cost.
