Day 1 of Penny's first Dock Diving Competition

Today was the first day of the two day dock diving competition. I entered her in three waves (you do two jumps each wave, the best score is kept for that wave).

My goal was to get 15ft. Which - she got on the first jump. haha. This was nice but also bittersweet as all her following jumps were shorter

She did good. her lowest jump was 12"8 ish I think. Aboslutly no hesitation jumping.

MY performance, needs big improvements I throw the wubba all over, once it didn't even land in the pool, three times I nearly hit the photographer! oops. I need to not throw as far (and this may help improve her jumping).

You both are learning. Sounds like Penny had fun and is a willing participant. Keep it up, you both will get there.

Sounds like a fun day! She has way better form than my older boy. At our last club dock diving event he was famous for the "slither" entry into the pool!

    Day 2 updated:
So I really cannot complain. She competed in 5 waves, and absolutely no wavering or hesitations. She jumped over 11" for all her jumps, up to the 15'8 she got on her first jump (which funny enough remained her BEST jump! go figure). She got another 15" today.

We have three legs towards her junior title (national) and two legs towards her senior title (national). Though we likely won't be doing another national competition - well until a year from now when this one comes back haha. Oh well. They give bling (medals) to all competitors so we got some bling

Now the sad part - now swimming until next Saturday's class and then - well I guess I have to find a swimming hole here! She loves to swim

That's awesome! Good job. Throwing things is hard. I was practicing my technique with a bumper yesterday and, well, talk about embarrassing.

haha yes I don't have good aim. Or I do but like 10% of the time, the rest it gets wild I did better today though, I concentrated on not throwing as far and I think that actually helps Penny quite a bit
