    Got it!

Brooks and I ran our 4th Junior Hunt Test today with our club, the First State Retriever Club. We did passed, and in doing so have achieved our Junior Hunter title!

When we started this year I had 3 goals. A Rally Advanced title, which we got. A Novice Obedience title, which we don't have, and have struggled mightily, with 2 passes in 8 trials. And finally, a JH title. So far, in the immortal words of Meatloaf, two out of three ain't bad. I had not planned on doing any more obedience trials this year, but now that we've got the JH, I may sign up for a couple Novice trials in November and see if we can get goal number 3 locked up.

With the Judges today. I was super tired, besides running the test, I also cooked burgers and dogs on the grill for workers, judges and other test competitors, plus I made over 4 gallons of chili for the event. I had no idea I was not holding our ribbon correctly until I saw the photo!

The immortal words of Meatloaf! Ha ha!

Are you sure all that cooking and grilling wasn't an effort to tip the scales in your favor? No, I have little doubt you and Brooks earned every second of your achievement! You're probably holding the ribbon down because your arms were too dang tired to hold them up any longer! Great work to you both!

    Big Congratulations!!!!

Hahaha!! I had wondered what that crooked "stick" was in your hand! Of course.... Your lunch sounds a lot better than mine on Sat. I took a new apple variety out to our (very dusty) test but would have loved a burger & chili!!!!

I typically spend the day running test dog, marshaling and running 1-2 dogs (plus the 2.5 hr drive each way!) so totally get that fatigue thing. My Saturday test w/ just Ruby running, no marshaling duties (though they tried to recruit me), just sitting around chatting and letting Honey and Pip watch the tests, and only 1.5 hr each way.... was a nice change!!! And we also came home w/ our title ribbon too, so that means 2 WindyCanyon JH titles for the day on opposite ends of the country --and I believe it was a good agility weekend for another in NC. I was glad to get to scratch Sunday's test as I came home to a pile of apples for testing that were supposed to be in earlier in the week of course.... so Sunday was work day.

Now be sure to work on those STAYS for obed!!!!!!!!!!! That reminds me, I need to sign Honey and Pippin up for obed/ rally classes today. Going to have to drive 80+ miles ea way, unfortunately, but at least by the time they start I'll be on the down swing of harvest work. Honey definitely needs it... what a pill. She sure got a lot of loves from the gallery on Sat out there though & clearly doesn't need any people socialization. One of the woman pros just laughed when she saw that Honey was one of mine. Said it was so sad they have such crappy temperaments.
