Started a new journey this weekend!

Had Sass in her first two Novice shows. On Thursday she worked a nice class except for a major bobble on heeling which cost her several points (she got distracted on an about turn on the heel free and got briefly left behind, but recovered on her own). I also messed up her recall by using the wrong command (I said come, which is more informal instead of front which gets her to try for a good front) and then on the finish, accidentally gave her Chloe’s finish signal which is much more minimalist than hers so she tried but didn’t really do a good finish. Despite all that she still had a 193.5 and was 4th in a HUGE class (27 dogs entered). She was the only one in the placements who didn’t already have the title, too.

Today we tried again, and I did a better job with my handling and she did a better job with her heeling. This time she was 2nd with a 198 - losing to a very experienced dog owned by a judge who had a 198.5 Our judge couldn’t believe Sass was only on her 2nd try.

Entered her at one more show in January, then it will be Cookie’s turn! Really looking forward to working with these girls.

Fun!! Sounds like she had an awesome weekend!

I think it would be very challenging training/showing two dogs of the same age. BUT - you get to do all the fun young dog stuff x2. It will be so fun to watch them grow up and learn together
