    It's not the dog

Elle got the last leg for her CD this weekend. She did very well which is more than I can say for her handler (me). I made some major errors with my hands and that is where she lost most of her point. The judge even waited for me to move my hand on the recall and I never did. She told me Elle was a very nice working dog, so maybe there is hope for me.
She also got her rally novice this weekend. On the first day I really messed up the second trial and she only got an 80 All 20 points deducted were my mistakes. Sunday I did better and her scores were 98 ( forgot to pause) and 100. The judge laughed when I told her I had to redeem myself from the mornings mistakes.
I now have to find a trial for M to work on her CD. Maybe in February.

The more I do this, the more I realize it usually is the handler, LOL. Nice job recovering! Congrats on the title. Too bad you aren’t around here or I might see you in the Novice ring in February! Chloe is at Westminster on Feb 11, but after that I should be showing Cookie for her CD ...

We will never be good enough for Westminster. Keep us posted on your achievements. I watched the Utility class and boy it looked like a whole lot of hours went into that training. There was one handler that was in her 80's with a very nice English cocker. Unfortunately the dog was having an off day and just didn't want to be there. I sure gave the handler a lot of credit for still getting out and competing. Maybe there is hope for me in the next 20 years.

A good friend of mine turned 90 today. She spent yesterday showing her 2 GSP’s in Open AND Utility. So two big dogs in two classes each. We sang to her and had cupcakes at the show :-) I always say I want to be her when I grow up, LOL.
