Killing time at an agility trial

This is what you do when entered in a long agility trial with plenty of time to kill!

We are at our first USDAA trial today - we are generally AKC people. Not sure I will enter this format of agility again, it is too long a day for the dogs and I and I feel terrible about them spending so much time in a crate on a weekend. Or maybe next time I will pay attention to the order they run things and only enter part of the day, not early morning, midday and 4pm. So far so good with the results, even made it to 6.57 yps in jumpers.

They seem to be having a great time. They should sleep well after all the new experiences and smells. Fast Labs! Fun times.

There's water to lie in, a godsend. Though it looks to be the result of recent rain so not always there? Sometimes it's just a kid's wading pool and empty after a few dogs splash around in it. We only did a whopping three trials and each one it was stinking hot out. I liked agility but why can't we trial in snow? Kidding of course.

Will check back for updates on how you did. Good luck.

I drove to the closest public fields from the trial site - we were inside. I try my best to some fun activities at the trials with them. Walking around the local neighborhood was a bit hot so I threw ball instead, and was very lucky to find that puddle which they loved.

Results were great, entered 3 events and qualified in all 3, but did feel like a bit of a cheat as we had to start at "Starters", aka novice. We are very advanced team in AKC agility but titles from organization doesn't transpose to the other.

Now we did do an outside AKC trial yesterday and that went great as well (very tough courses), only 2 more double qualifies to go until our second MACH.

And tomorrow we are abstaining from trials and heading out hiking somewhere .... haven't checked the weather report, if it is hot we will have to be up very early.

Long day but perfect with a puddle to play in.
