    Bridget Carlson Seminar

There's a two-day Bridget Carlson seminar coming up later this year. I'm wondering if anyone has ever attended one and what you thought? It's quite expensive.

I am attending a Denise Fenzi seminar in a few months already.

Bridget is supposed to be very good.

I did a Fenzi one a few yrs ago and was disappointed to say the least. She ended up switching the Sat and Sun agendas around and needless to say, that (tug games) was not what I had paid to listen to. I had 2 dogs that basically sat in their crates until very late in the day when she finally accommodated us for a couple minutes. It was ~$80 out the window.

Interesting... Denise was here in late fall and this is a repeat performance with many of the same people. My trainer does not mince words and if the seminar sucked she'd have told her so! Was your seminar a long time ago? I will have to report back and see if maybe (hopefully?) she has changed and improved her seminars.

I do know that I much prefer watching and listening to Janice Gunn, who was taught by Denise Fenzi. So, it's basically the same stuff, just in a better (in my opinion) format. At least on video. I have yet to see Janice Gunn in person.

I've never been to a seminar, but have friends who go to many and they all seemed pretty positive about the Bridget Carlson ones.

I've been to two Bridget seminars and will be attending another this fall with my puppy.

I really enjoy her seminars. I'd look up a few videos of her and her dogs on youtube, just so you can witness her style.

I guess the best tip I'd give you about her seminars is she isn't there to teach you how to do the individual exercises, but instead how to build drive and want to into EVERY little detail. It's kind of a whole methodology, but a very powerful one if you can master it and implement it.

Thanks for the review! I have been watching her videos for awhile. They actually started me on my journey to 100% positive reinforcement performance training!

Well, Bridget is very much a balanced trainer. The difference in her corrections is she teaches the dog where to go with the correction...the right answer is for the dog to give effort/energy and not give up.
