I was the only guy in both of the CGC classes I took. And I'm the only guy in the rally class Bruce is doing. The youngest woman in this class is early 40's at the youngest.

When I was in the UK for Cruft's, my friend and I were having a conversation about this very thing. He was saying that showing dogs had turned in to a woman's sport. I would estimate over 80% of the exhibiters were women.

Many years ago, I worked a several field trials and water tests put on by The Lab Club, and there was not one female handler. I just wonder if that's changed now???????

I would bet membership on this forum is highly biased toward female members well out numbering us dudes!!!!!

Oops, I meant children -- set me up with their children -- not grandchildren! I'm not THAT young! Ha!!!

I know LOTS of women who are into field tests. In fact, two of the groups I work with are all women, the Lab club folks who do field stuff are all women, and I have yet to see the guy I go to private lessons with teach a man. So, you might be right!

In my area, field trials are probably 95% men trainers and handlers. Hunt tests see many more women than field trials for sure.

Our obedience breakdown sounds the same as most other locations. Lots of middle aged and above ladies, and a few men.

Well, a good friend who I stewarded with yesterday is 84, so I’d bet her grandchildren are probably in the right age range, LOL. She’s amazing - still competes with her GSP’s. We are all in awe of her.
