I took Sam to a dock diving practice. He'd only been exposed to this once before and was really reluctant to jump although he finally did with a lot of encouragement.
He was amazingly better this time. He still stops at the end of the dock and thinks about it but he was leaping off the dock and even pushing off for a little distance. He refused to jump once near the end of the day, I'm not sure why. We just got back in line and I got him to jump just once so we could stop on a positive for the day. He was VERY excited about getting up on the dock, just not as sure about jumping off.
Nonetheless, this is leaps ahead of his previous attempt so I am very proud of him. I didn't get any photos of him jumping but someone did snap this one of him doing what he did best all day long -- barking.
So thrilled for Sam! Definitely on his way to enjoying this sport. Thanks so much for sharing! Kind of hard to take pics and also encourage and be Sam's rock as he learns something new. Love the "down time" pic. Sounds like Sam was letting everyone know he was proud to be there. And will one day show them how far he can dock dive.
