We might end up learning faster than I thought this way bc if I give him an object and say "take it" he will take it and hold it, so I'm thinking we will get through the first stages of training quickly, and move to the distraction parts, and I bet he will take off from there using this method! After I make some progress, I'll let the trainer who suggested chin holding know what we've learned, she will be as excited about this as I am I think.

A lot of people use the chin method but it's clicked and trained not held. They call it a chin touch. Holding the chin without this method could freak some dogs out. I didn't do it this way but plenty of people do.
