I am thinking about going down for a day or 2. It is a long drive my back does not do well with but I really want to go.

I just looked at the Premium, looks like Obedience starts at 8am??? I'm definitely shooting for Wed and Thurs. We'll have to make some arrangement to meet up. I wasn't smart enough to look to see if this is a benched show, so I'll ask here.

Correct. I can tell you that I will be “benched” at the Obedience area for at least the duration of Open B and Utility B, longer if things go really well

It's not benched in the traditional sense, but it kinda is Many of the breeders stay at the host hotel (conformation) and the late afternoon/early evening is basically a tailgate party! If you want to see labradors, I can't think of a better place to go

I agree. For anyone who is into Labs, this should be on your bucket list.

I had plans to attend this year, but have other plans that got in the way this time. I met Sue and a couple of other board members a few years ago at Potomac, and of course know 'Piccadilly' from here in the years past. I will be going for sure in 2017, maybe even with dogs. :-)

The show isn't really benched, but there are so many dogs coming and going from the rings, getting exercised and pottied, that you will have a lot of chances to meet dogs and breeders all day long, all week. Buy a catalog so you can track dogs you would like to meet or see up close, or breeders you would like to meet. Just before ring time is a busy time, so try to get their attention after they come out (unless they have a class right after). The conformation rings run three rings at once, my friend and I refer to it as a "3 ring circus", with just one gorgeous Labrador after another. The raffle is pretty good too. Bring a chair, sunscreen, rain gear, a hat, and snacks if you want to stay for the day, or more than a few hours. Judging starts at 8 am Tuesday morning and ends after Best of Breed judging Friday afternoon/evening/night.
