    Tickle's fabulous!

While we don't (can't) show Hoku, I find it really interesting to see dogs who conform so well to breed standards. Hoku seems a pretty good representation of her breeder's type, which is nice to see, but of course I know nothing about it (and because we don't show, I don't really care, save for curiosity's sake). I'd really like to go to a local show and see all the gorgeous dogs, though. I love learning more about the standards.

    I wish!!!

Coat is such an interesting thing. We didn't really have the best coats with the chocolates. When we got Jagger he was dripping in coat, and while it was a nice turn-around, he's a good example of the over-coated kind that tends to be a bit open. Seriously, we can't wash him before a show. 3 weeks or more because we need the coat to lay down. Tickle is my first "correct" coat. And she lacks the wave too. She's like dense velvet when in coat. Which she blew.

Coats at my place run the gamut. Everyone has correct coats, but they range from the slightly softer (still harsh, but could be better) yellow to tighter-jacketed chocolate, to what I think (fingers-crossed) is going to be a spectacular adult coat on my black puppy. I think in the breed overall, yellows need the most help with coat. More and more seem like they are the wrong texture, length, not properly wrapped, etc. Blacks and chocolates from bench lines seem to have consistently better coats at the moment.

I'm really happy, and excited for you with your new crop of youngsters. You work hard with your crew and deserve all the success you are having! :-)

My coats are great here, thankfully, on my chocolates and blacks. I have some other things I'd like to fix, (always!) but I am also very picky. Yellow coats are the hardest to do well, so many of them are so open!

I would like to echo what DXBoon said Jen, I am very happy to see you succeeding, you do work hard and deserve this. I keep watching Facebook to see that Jagger has finished! *fingers crossed it's soon*
