      99

Sophie had her first Rally Trial tonight at Wilmington Kennel Club. We were the first dog to go in Novice B and she scored 99!!! Unfortunately we didn't place, there were three 100's and three 99's, I guess we weren't fast enough. I couldn't care less! Circumstances over the past couple months have prevented us from any Rally classes, and we've missed a lot of our obedience class too, so I wasn't sure how she would do. I actually almost didn't go, but I figured she has worked very hard, and has come so far since we started training after Bruce passed away, so I felt she deserved to go and compete.

I am so proud of her, she was very focused and maintained eye contact with pretty much the whole time. She was a bit crooked on a Halt, Down, Walk Around and I think that's where we lost our one point. We had a lot of good comments from the other competitors on what a great job she did.

None. We were the only first timers. I casually know 2 of the people who got 100's and the lady with the 99 who placed 4th has been in a few of the Rally classes we've done. She's a neighbor of a lady who has helped us with a lot of training, who calls her "poodle girl". Her dog has had it's novice title for ages, but she won't move up until she scores a 100 in novice. I'd call her a bit of a whack job, but that wouldn't be very nice of me !!

October 20th and 21st - in North Branch Park which is in Bridgewater, NJ (fairly central). It closes on October 5th though, so you’d have to get your entry in ASAP. Here’s a copy of the premium list http://raudog.wpengine.com/wp-conten...Lab-PL2016.pdf and Rau does have on-line entries.
