appetite
Yzerman was on Purina One adult food. I didn't like all the chemicals, etc. in the ingredients. I went to a pet store and got a Super Premium Puppy food. I did mix it with the Purina One. The kibbles were too big for the pup to chew (Premium ones) so I have been soaking them. Sometimes he devours his food and other times he will barely nibble and will go all the way to the next feed and not care. Will a dog ever starve themselves? I don't think it is completely the food because he would sometime do this with just he Purina One. He will eat when he is hungry right? He is still having BMs and urinating fine. OH New Motherhood paranoia all over again.

A healthy dog will never starve themselves. They may not eat all that well, but they certainly won't starve themselves to the point of loosing a lot of weight or any further than that.

Thank-you for the response. Right after I posted this he went and ate all his food. He definitely is not eating the recommended amount on the package, but I think he is a on the smaller scale of his breed. He was the smallest of the boys. He is eating 2 cups of puppy food a day and the required amount recommended was 3 1/3 cups. I have tried to give him more but he just leaves it.
I kind of figured that he will take care of himself. Sue and Yzerman Happy Easter |
