Ever since I saw this thread, I thought it would be a good reason to come down and look at some houses PLUS get to meet some new people and visit with some I already know!

I'm not 100% positive yet (I've checked flights and it looks like I can fly in on NWA for FREE!!!!!).

Can you recommend a decent (fairly cheap) hotel/motel nearby? I'll be making the final decision within the next week.

Kathy, Don't worry. You won't have to go over any HUGE bridges from the airport to my house. There's not very many in Charlotte anyway. :D

Kathy, both my kids have "Bridge Issues" too. Neither of them (and my daughter drove down here from CT with Grip and the cats) have noticed any bridges of consequence ;)

There are hotels all over the place here. Try looking on expedia.com and you'll be able to get side by side price quotes.

Kathy there aren't any for sure....

I can't believe I actually finally (probably) get to go to my first labfest. I've never met anyone from the board. :( It will just be Jake and I though. It would be nuts to drive 4 hours home, pick up Grace, drive 4 1/2 hours to Charlotte, drive 4 1/2 hours back home to drop Grace off, then 4 hours back to school lol. It's only about 2 hours from here.

I'm in Central VA but I have a beach house in NC and thought I would come for the day! I've been dying to come to another Lab Fest since the Austin one and I thought this would be perfect!!! Is it ok if an a non-lab dog comes too (aka...my little jack that thinks he's is lab?!)? OH and both will definitely be in costume! :D

I just checked out the directions and it's 100 miles shorter to come from Charlottesville then from the beach so I can definitely can come (after I clear it with work this week! ;) )!! David found out last night he has a possibility of going down to SC for field training, but HOPEFULLY that isn't the case. well, if I go I'll keep you in mind b/c those buddy passes are $100 US return anywhere in the continental US...the only drag is that there are only so many issued/year & of course a person would want to use one when on a longer vacation & I can go 200 miles away or 2000miles away for the same price...that's the only down side to those passes...but I'm going to check to see about them b/c it's nearing the end of the year & if there are a few left, it wouldn't matter b/c I'm going nowhere in Nov or Dec & then they renew themselves in Jan....
