Miracles needed in Columbus Co. NC! HELP!
Just saw a request for help at this FULL gassing shelter. These dogs will die tomorrow. They need miracles by the end of the day today. Please help if you can. They are lovely!

These 2 black beauties are shy but very friendly. Pay them attention and both their tails go constantly. Scared of all the noise at the shelter. Turned in by their owner, available now. Kennel 22 Candidate for euthanasia on Friday Feb. 13 Please remember to take your new companion to the vet and please help the pet overpopulation by spaying and neutering!

Policy on strays: First come, first serve. The shelter can not hold dogs for people, you have to physically be there when the dog's time is up. Please register with animal control when you arrive and let them know who you are interested in. If they don't know, they can't help you

estimated to be between 4-6 months of age- they will see the vet tomorrow and I will post what he thinks as well- they are sisters who were an OTI

I sure hope someone did a home visit and is spaying these girls prior to them going to this "adoptor". That would be the right thing to do considering the individuals he's been privately harrassing on this board.

Dani- FIRST off, let me tell you this, I am NOT sure what you have against him,period. If I recall you were the ONE who got in a "fit" as he was concerned about SOME rescue groups. I for one, can complain LOUD and clear about SOME groups, not all!! His reference have been checked, he is spaying these girls. Will they be spayed first, NO as they are only 4 months old.These girls are scared to death and need to mellow out. NC vet says they need to wait before they spayed. Are you the rescue group, he is adopting from- NO!!

Congratulations Dave on saving these two adorable labs! Kim has done her homework and found you to be a perfect home for these two. Not sure why we are being warned about you. I have read the "alleged thread" and have not seen the harassing part that was described. In fact you weren't the least bit threatening at all.
I hope you stick around and let us keep in touch after these two get to your home. We all love follow up rescue stories and we REALLY love pictures too! :D Have you picked out names yet?

We're spaying and neutering all of the 8 puppies prior to them leaving...stress has nothing to do with them being able to handle anthestisia.

And...calling a reference is NOT the same as a homevisit. If you are going to adopt, don't half *** it. Do it correct and the right way or don't bother. It's also irresponsible to adopt TWO littermates to a person with limited lab experience who has said that they are going to kennel outside. Good screening there.

Kim has really been a great friend in my search and has kinda adopted ME!!! I'm not going anywhere and they'll be plenty of pictures. (Photography is a hobby of mine).
I'm holding off on names till I meet them and get to know their personalities.

The harrassing that was done should not be allowed to happen on this board. I feel sorry for the long-time member.

Kim, please - if you are going to adopt to him, at least make sure they are spayed before leaving. I personally would not adopt to him and neither would another one "our" rescue guys. (We had a long talk about Sarge tonight)

Also, hopefully the person that did the homevisit can check up on him after the dogs arrive. The outdoor kenneling does not sit well with me at all.

As far as MI rescues go and Dani - Dani does not post every dog she saves on the board. There are alot of saves done that she deserves a ton of credit for but she gets the dog safe and rehomed and does not need a pat on the head for every one of them - it is part of who she is and what she does EVERDAY that makes her a success. She runs one of the best rescue programs that I have seen. I am very picky about where I send my pulls to. Dani and Joe are the only two that I trust 100%

Just please be careful with this one.

Um!!!!! What is wrong with kenneling a dog outside? Our 2 dogs are kenneled outside on a daily basis. If my BF had his way thaty would sleep at night out there. They are hunting dogs but family dogs as well.

I missed the whole thread you all are talking about. But, personally I do not understand what the whole problem is about kenneling.

I am new to the board but I find this just totally offensive.:(

Both of my pups are rescues they are half sisters and didn't come through a lab rescue group or any private group for that matter they came through a stroke of luck when the first girl was dumped at my local vets office because the people didn't have a car to drive her and her brother to the shelter.

After I got her I knew almost immediately I wanted a friend for her so I searched petfinder to "Save a Life" I emailed a private rescue group about a young 5mo old Lab mix puppy. After I got the basic information I wrote the group back telling them about myself, my home and my family and givining them 2 vet references. I got a real nasty letter back telling me that in NO way would they consider adopting out a dog to me since I show another breed and have intact dogs!

I live in 5.5 beautiful acres in the country ... there is a lake close by and lots of room to run and play. On top of that I stay home so I am here all day and have a 14 year old son that loves bigger dogs. I had no intention of breeding ... we just love labs and finally had what we thought was the perfect set up to own one or 2.

A month later that poor pup is still on their page waiting for a home... pity he could have had one... but I guess some things aren't meant to me... if I had gotten him I wouldn't have been able to take Macy.

Isn't finding a good home for these guys the most important thing?? I think so.... (yes I have done breed rescue and I know the protocol)

Pretty soon if HSUS and PETA get their way no one will be able to own pets anyway... so I am going to enjoy mine will I still can.

I can't believe for one frigin second you think IslandMan was rude to anyone on this board!!!!! Second of all I'm shocked that you aren't happy these 2 pups are going to a great home and not being PTS. Seems to me it's your way or the highway---you need to take a step back, get off your high horse and chill.
