They hate to see spring/summer hit because of the influx of puppies and kitties and no place to put them. Truly sad. Trouble is the key is not more rescue groups but more people spaying/neutering their pets! Chasers 05-05-2007, 11:03 AM Thank you for this reminder. I live actually within minutes from this humane society and just e-mailed them about the possibility of rescuing another lab. My husband and I have been thinking about it for awhile....but seeing/reading things like this really make me wonder what we've been waiting for. I know the article was about donating...but the more animals adopted, the less they have to provide, so I figure it all helps! I'll keep everyone updated! NYMare 05-05-2007, 03:51 PM That's great to hear, Chasers--and if Akron doesn't work out, Carrollton, Ohio has a pound that gasses dogs every Friday and we struggle to get all the dogs out to safety. The pound almost always has a lab or two or more. It's ten bucks a dog, first come, first served. There is a young male lab there now as a matter or fact, safe until Friday. http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/OH302.html NYMare 05-05-2007, 04:02 PM Just in case Akron has no labs or something, Carrollton, OHIO--Meet #6: http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b100/Mare9/6.jpg |
