I read in an earlier thread that someone's pup gets more gas when he's on food with lamb in it (can't remember who said it).
Now I'm curious: do you notice differences in your dog's digestive issues, itching, or anything like that depending on the specific kind of meat that is in your kibble? Has anyone heard about one kind of meat being more likely to cause issues than others?

I think chicken is the most common. Finnegan is allergic to chicken and wheat. It's funny, he breaks out in his groin area from wheat and his underarms from chicken. When I first started feeding raw, I thought he was allergic to chicken, so, I stopped feeding him chicken. he was still broke out in his groin area. Then, I kind of did some investigating on what was common in all of his treats. It was wheat. When I stopped giving him wheat, his groin are cleared up. So, I started giving him chicken again. After a while I found out that his underarms were all broken out. I've stopped chicken and the underarms are almost all cleared up.

Beef is #1 when it comes to allergies. I would suspect bison would be close behind.
Chicken is more easily digested than lamb, but is slightly worse when it comes to allergies.

Beef & chicken are top culprits for meats. But, grains are probably more often the culprits in food allergies.
I don't know if there is a relationship between beef & bison, but some dogs who are allergic to chicken will react to other poultry (even duck).

Brandy can't eat lamb and venison. I'm planning to avoid most game meats. The vet's said she was intolerant of them not allergic. At 6 months she ended up at the vet's for 3 days after eating lamb and more recently had bloody diahhrea after eating venison treats.

Maggie seems to have more gas when on Lamb. I just started a log today and will watch how much gas she has a day. I have her on prozyme so will see if that helps the gas situation otherwise I'l put her on chicken and try that.

I think chicken and beef are commonly problems - which may be because most vaccines are egg or bovine based.
I've never heard of bison being a common problem?
