Anne was very close to the gas chamber last week when Taylor said "pull her I have room"....Anne is sooo sweet...is starved for attention..has practically knocked Taylor over to love her to death.... We've already had some interest and were looking forward to finding her the perfect forever home.

Taylor took Anne to the vet this Tuesday..she has a swollen nipple it appears to be a mass. We thought it was an infection. Our vet wants to look further...they are concerned it is cancer. :tissue: We are scared for Anne she is 5..unspayed..and has a mass. We are having "the works" run on her tomorrow.

Please send good thoughts and prayers her way!!! We want this girl to have the life she deserves...THANKS!

Just thought I'd chime in - Deneen is always faster than me at getting this stuff up.

We originally thought it was an infection, as she seemed to just weaned a litter not too long ago. The vet checked it out, and was really concerned it was possibly cancer rather then an infection. So, tomorrow Anne will be getting the mass aspirated to see if they can see anything abnormal, and also get a few chest x-rays incase it is, infact, cancer and whether or not it has metastasized into the chest.

She is such a sweet dog, and doesn't deserve this. I asked the Dr. if it was cancer, what her options would be - and that is a very expensive surgery, price depending on if they had to remove one mammory gland or the whole line of mammory glands; IF it didn't metastasize into her chest. If it did, she said her life expectancy is 6-12 months. Sure don't want to think about that - but it's better to know all the scenarios in the beginning.

So, good thoughts & prayers for this girl are certainly needed - hopefully we'll have the results tomorrow afternoon.

Oh no, poor girl! Will be thinking about Anne. Keep us updated.

UPDATE!

Vet thinks it is only an abcess. Put her on 2 weeks of clavamox, and will do a re-check. She said there's a possibility it may not be cancerous, because it was still very firm - but all she got out of it was blood. So, she wants to recheck after 2 weeks of anitbiotics!!
