(I have to be very vague here, so bear with me.)

I met a special person this week. He reminded me of my boss - a nice younger man. He had just arrived, and had a suitcase with him. He had a lab at home, and openly greeted Calvin. Calvin has a very bad habit of kissing - which is not allowed. And with this man, I was reminding him: No kisses. This man was in pretty good spirits, but suddenly got quiet, as he held Calvin's head in his hands- looked into his eyes and said: Can you kiss away my brain cancer. I let Calvin kiss his face away, as his wife started sobbing.

I held back my own tears, as I'm suppose to help people forget about their problems. But I did cry all the way home.

Thanks guys. If I weren't going to Hawaii - I might see this guy again. I may still see him again, but I hope he's not there when I get back, and is at home - getting better.

I do, and I don't wish I'll toughen up over this. I don't want to become a zombie - but I can't keep on getting so emotional over these visits.

Oh, Deb....
I can't blame you for crying. I want to bawl just reading that.

After the day I had today, that just did me in.:cry2: I can't even put into words how much I hate that disease:mad:

Calvin and you are giving the people you visit an amazing gift Deb. After reading some of your stories, I honestly don't think that I'm emotionally going to be able to do this.

Hugs to you and Calvin for being so giving of yourselves.

You are both doing a wonderful thing. I would lavish hugs and kisses on Calvin after he was finished working......you probably both will feel better for it. God Bless You!

That made me cry. That is so awesome what you and Calvin are doing. I love seeing the patients eyes light up at the hospital when the Therapy dogs come to visit. It just makes that day so much brighter for that patient.
