I just read the book "Green for LIfe" by Victoria Boutenko. I've been reading a lot about the raw diet and "natural" preventative medicines (as in food). I picked this book up because I remember reading in a thread that Deb (d2roberts) said that she drinks a green smoothie from this book. The whole book really makes a lot of sense and backs up a lot of other info that I've been reading. They actually sound pretty good too. I'm going to give them a try - just wondering if anyone else has been drinking green smoothies for a time and what improvements/differences they may have noticed.

I have green tea boost put in my Jamba Juice, does that count? I am so in love with green tea right now.

Is the book worth buying? I thought about it after Deb mentioned it.
BTW, what is in a "green" smoothie and do you need a juicer?

I'd say yes the book is worth buying even if you don't want to drink green smoothies. It was all very interesting.
You do not need a juicer just a really good blender. You blend up some greens like spinach or celery and add banana, mango etc. They all sounded good. Here's one that I'm planning on trying.
1 stalk celery
1 banana
2 C blueberries
2 C water
blend together and drink. They sort of sound like milk shakes without the milk.

Yes - I have to say the book is worth buying. Dave has been going nuts with this health thing, and most of the books he has been buying I blow off. I did with this book too - until I was able to get off of stomach meds because of it.
It's easy to follow, short enough, and the recipes are pretty good. Obviously some better than others.
The green part of the smoothies are actual greens that you add to drinks, like kale, or spinach. They look disgusting - I've gotta warn you - but they smell and taste just fine, and sometimes actually good. ;-)
We do have a Vitamix, but I don't see why a good blender wouldn't work just fine.

BEWARE: I never realized how strong tasting celery was until making these drinks! So just make sure your fruit is really ripe - especially bananas.
Also beware, some of these drinks contain a lot of calories!
