View Full Version : April 26th SoCal Labfest update
shanesmom 04-11-2008, 02:03 PM I just got a call from the reservation office at the park and apparently the woman (new employee) who approved our reservation for April 26th failed to notice that the Boy Scouts had reserved the Entire Park for that day, for the entire weekend, actually. So, the woman who called me is holding Saturday, May 10th for us until Tuesday of next week. We have until then to decide if we want this date or not. I feel so bad for the mix-up and I hope that you all can make it on May 10th. Let's start a new list of those who can attend... If May 10th doesn't work then we can choose a new date. Let's see what everyone says.

CaliLabiGirl 04-11-2008, 02:28 PM Oh no!!!! :( We totally planned around the 26th and have cancelled things to make it work. I have a baby shower that I'm supposed to go to on May 10th. I'll try to make it work though. No worries...stuff like this happens.
Lab-adore 04-11-2008, 02:59 PM I'm still in!!
Shanesmom... 1 yellow boy
Lab-adore..........2 yellow girls!
Probably not going to make it. It's Mother's Day weekend and I've got two to visit! Hopefully next time. No worries. Thanks for the update!
LabDog 04-11-2008, 03:42 PM I'm sorry about the screw up. I guess these things happen.
Unfortunately, May 10th won't be good for me- it's Mother's Day weekend and we've got both my parents and in-laws. (I never get to enjoy Mother's Day because I'm busy entertaining our mothers!)
'hope you guys have a great time!
And Rosemary, I hope we can plan another one in a few months?
shanesmom 04-11-2008, 05:37 PM If too many people can't make it, why don't we plan for a day later in the summer? Even if it's a little warm, there is plenty of shade at the park.
Riggs 04-11-2008, 06:55 PM Definately not May 10th weekend for us either. I wish I would of known this as of yesterday when I booked my daughters bday party for down there and made plans around that weekend for the event. Oh well what can you do.
shanesmom 04-11-2008, 07:01 PM O.K., lets forget about May 10th and plan for some time in the future. I am sorry for any inconvenience this has caused any of you. If anyone else wants to start a new thread, go for it.
shanesmom 04-11-2008, 08:20 PM Does anyone know of another place, maybe in the O.C. (Kathryn or Eriko) where we can still do this on the 26th? I am feeling very badly about having to cancel and disappoint everyone... Maybe a school or a park near anyone else??
LabDog 04-11-2008, 10:20 PM I responded to your PM, but the only suggestion I can have, if everyone can still make it, is the Huntington Dog Beach. We've had a labfest there before and it was fine. We just have to be a bit more diligent about keeping an eye on the dogs because it is open and not a private beach. We can gather at a specific tower (I think there are life guard towers there) or street intersection.
CaliLabiGirl 04-11-2008, 10:27 PM O.K., lets forget about May 10th and plan for some time in the future. I am sorry for any inconvenience this has caused any of you. If anyone else wants to start a new thread, go for it.
No worries...stuff like this happens. We'll meet up somehow!!!! :)
shanesmom 04-11-2008, 11:15 PM Is anyone else up for Eriko's idea of going to the dog beach? I would go if anyone else wants to.
Riggs 04-12-2008, 10:32 AM I can do that in the morning. I would definately need to leave around 1pm to get back to Brea and ready for Zoeys bday party at CHuchk E cheese. Oh the joy of the dancing rat.
Lake lover 04-13-2008, 07:28 AM I wouldn't be able to make the 10th either. We're back to being gone everyother weekend and that is a weekend we're out of town. Now, the weekend after, I'm free:thumb4:
Lab-adore 04-14-2008, 09:09 AM If we decide soon, I can do the Huntington Beach meet up on April 26th in the morning.
shanesmom 04-17-2008, 10:22 PM so, who is planning on going to the dog beach on the 26th?
Riggs 04-17-2008, 11:32 PM I am willing to go as long as we have a time and an exact lifeguard station to meet at. Last lab fest there that I attended a few years back there was a mix up on stations and I didnt meet half the people there. So let me know if we have specifics.
LabDog 04-18-2008, 12:19 AM It turns out the my son has a major school project that requires me driving him around, so unfortunately, we won't be able to make it.
Beau's Mum 04-18-2008, 10:56 PM Just seen this thread.................oh the joys of working full time. I don't get any computer time now:(
We are going away in the trailer weekend of 26th so couldn't make either place. (last minute arrangement)
If anyone wants to come down here the weekend after (that would be 3rd May)we have plenty of room in our back yard. Chris will be at work so I know I will definately be around that weekend. I am not sure about 10th because it will be his weekend off and we are now planning on going away every other weekend (unless he has so much work he has to go in,,,,,Life has become so confusing:confused:)
