Lena's Dad 09-14-2004, 08:59 AM I found alot of helpful information at www.njboxers.com Go to Barf for Beginners FAQs That section will answer nearly every question you can think of. McBainandLoki'sMom 09-16-2004, 11:02 AM You're supposed to feed between 1-2% of an adult dogs IDEAL body weight... For example McBain is about 65 lbs right now but he's a gangly thin teenager. I've been feeding him 1 1/2 lbs a day. 1/2 RMB's (chicken frames, and turkey necks for breakfast) and half muscle meat with some veggies. Plus organ meat (about 1 lb a week in two seperate meals). I also feed him fish once a week or so, eggs (shell and all) and green tripe too (he loves the tripe). I realized after about a month that he was a little too skinny so I just increased the amt of food. An extra chicken back 3 mornings a week... an extra couple eggs a week (Dr. Pitcairns book says that a lab sized dog can eat three whole eggs a week). So far he loves everything! I bough some frozen whole sardines this week, you'd think he was a seal!
