Hi, I am new this forum, and I have a 8 month old female Lab/Border Collie mix pup for adoption. She is a very sweet girl. She loves to retrieve! She will retrieve her ball and sticks and anything on land or in the water, She loves to go swimming and hiking and loves to also just chill with you on the porch. She is a real great pup. A real happy dog. I just have 9 other dogs(6 are which are working border collies and the other 3 are also rescues, one corgi/sheltie and two mixed pups) and my funds just wont let me keep her any longer. I know she needs so much more than I can give her. She is great with all aged kids, and she is great with other dogs both genders. To you a little about how I came across her. She has been here all her life. She was born here along with her other 4 bros and sissies. Her Mother I rescued and she was PG when she came here, So to make a long story short She is one that is left out of the others. If she does not find home real soon. I am afraid I will have to take her to the shelter, AND I DO NOT WANT TO DO THAT. I have never had to take a dog to a shelter and I realy dont want to start now. It would brake my heart. She is very special to me, but I know she needs more than I can give her. Please if anyone wants to give this girl a home, please email me at bc_mom@sbcglobal.net we are in Arkansas. If there is anything else you want to know feel free to email me, or if you would like some different pics I can do that to. Here are some for now.

No offense, but you cannot rehome your personal dogs on this site.

Non Taken, She is not really a personal dog, since I rescued Her, and I have never had plans to keep her. But not to sound mean, but why may we not post the personal dogs here to find homes. Isnt the rescue/adoption area for making sure that dogs find loving/safe homes no matter what? :)

Those of us in rescue are committed to finding dogs permanent, loving homes. We look for homes that make a lifetime commitment to their pets. Having people use this board to rehome personal pets is the opposite of that. None of us is willing to encourage or assist people in irresponsible pet ownership. Those of us in rescue also believe responsible rescue work requires careful screening of dog and adoptive home. Applications should be taken, references checked, and home visits made. Surrendering a dog to an unknown person who sounds nice on a chat board is endangering the dog and irresponsible.

Many of us also have found that if we make it easy for people to be irresponsible in their pet ownership, that is exactly what they will be ... irresponsible. Reasons I have been given for a dog no longer being wanted include:

doesn't match the new carpet
new carpet
new furniture
too big (like puppies don't grow)
decided would like another puppy, not this dog
no manners (like the dog trains itself)
moving
tired of dog hair

and it goes on and on. As far as I am concerned, people with excuses like that don't deserve any pet, but I am not going to do a single thing to encourage them to treat this dog or any future dog like this.

Sometimes owners lie too in an effort to pass a problem on to someone else.

These are just some of the reasons OS and rehoming of personal pets are not allowed here.
