My two sons have this wonderful idea. Since I do cake decorating as a hobby that I should bake and decorate a cake for Buddeee for his 4th birthday? So I'm wondering if anybody has any reciepes for a lab's birthday cake that would be safe for them to eat I imagine making a cake mix from a box would give them a tummy ache or if anyone can point me in the right direction of where to look. Thanks so very much. My kids love birthdays and I think they would have loads of fun planning a birthday party for Buddeee. :)

Here is a recipe i got from here a little while ago. I haven't tried it yet but Dillion's 1st b-day is this weekend so I'll let you know how he likes it. But he is a Lab so i am sure if its edible he will love it.

2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1/2 cup raisins
In mixing bowl, beat together mashed banana and butter until creamy. Add eggs and water. Beat well. Stir in dry ingredients. Beat until smooth. Add nuts and rasins. Spoon batter enenly into oiled and floured bundt pan. Bake at 350 degrees for about 35 min. Cool a frost.

I made these this weekend (I also added chopped apple)! Sascha loves them, but I think the boyfriend likes them even more!! Even though there's no sugar in them, he loves these things! I have to remind him that they're for the dog.....

DillontheVillin, i would leave the raisins out of that recipe. raisins and grapes can be very toxic to dogs. here is a link to the snopes page on the subject, so you know its not just another urban legend. ;)
