Is it safe to give dogs chicken bones? You talk to different people & hear different things.
Some people give their dogs lots of table food, all the bones etc....others only dog food and bones will kill them........
We feed our dog wet & dry dog food...Mainly dry..but a can or two of wet a week mixed in her food
We don't eat beef or pork, so the only bones we have are chicken bones.........Is it true they lodge in their throats?
We buy her rawhides at the store..she loves those

You can give chicken bones as long as they are raw...raw chicken bones are much better to give than rawhides.

We feed our dogs only raw food chicken is one of the bone and meat sources that we use as Gunnergirl said only raw uncooked bones and we use mainly necks and wings. It is also recommended not to mix the two types of food as raw and commercial are digested differently and if the raw sits in the stomach for too long it can cause major digestive upset.
If you want to give your pup bones for chewing, cleaning teeth and some nutrients just pick up the soup or shank bones at the meat dept. these are the best things for your dog.

Yes, you can feed chicken bones. As the others have said, they need to be raw. Cooking hardens the bone and causes it to splinter into sharp shards - thats when its dangerous.

Chicken and turkey necks are fine and are a good way to introduce bones to the diet. I regularly feed chicken backs as well, and Jag just demolishes these, so give it a try.

We recently started giving Max marrow bones (beef) instead of raw hide. The bones are cheaper, last longer, and are MUCH better for him. He took to them like a duck to water. We gave him one in the back yard and he didn't notice we were gone for almost three hours.
