My youngest will be 6 months soon and I’m thinking about putting Cal Natural Lamb and Rice in the rotation for the crew. They're currently on Orijen, the pup LB puppy Orijen, but with 4 dogs it’s really putting a dent in the pocket book. Would it be better to put the pup on the L&R puppy or is the adult L&R fine for a 6 month old Lab.

I would definitely be feeding the puppy formulas of California Natural to a 6 months old puppy. They still have a lot of growing and developing to do; and I don't think the 21% protein and 12% fat in the adult version supplies them with what they need. Actually, I would prefer feeding my older dogs the CN puppy versions (which are "all life stages" formulas) than the adult formula.

Do any of your dogs have bad gas on CN? CN is an all-life-stages food so you can still feed him puppy CN.

I switched Charlie to CN adult at 8 months. I do add a little canned food for extra protein.

Zeke has some terrible smelling gas. I don't know if that's normal but he's only been fully transitioned for 2 weeks or so.

Feed them all the adult...The digestibility means they are getting plenty of amino acids...

Satch was switched to adult CN lamb at 4 months per the breeder....It helps slow down growth to feed adult....Puppy won't hurt..but will give more fuel and that extra energy at a young age can let the pup do too much....putting stress on growing joints...you want to bring a pup along slow so you have a healthy, strong adult to enjoy for many years....

CN adult is a tested (feed trial) ALS food that's been around for almost 20 yrs, never changed, designed by Dr. Belfield, and Natura, to give a pure diet, free of chemicals and added stuff....Is organic in that it is from free range sheep, fed organically, except that the winter feed can not be guaranteed to be Organic, other wise CN Lamb is an organic diet....This is the best way to feed livestock for healthy results when fed to humans as well as dogs and cats....

The dogs liver is a factory, performing many functions to maintain good health...Food being processed should be clean...and pure...but today so many diets are overloaded with rendered, overly processed ingredients, the liver gets overworked and can't remove those toxins from the bloodstream..and the kidneys have the same issue....with environmental toxins being so prevalent on our world today feeding a pure, simple diet makes so much sense...
