Our kitten (about 4mo old) has some poop issues. Very soft, and he steps in it when he's jumping out of his box. It's an awful gross problem. He does not have worms, he's been checked.

I ordered California Natural wet and dry food for him, it's due to arrive soon.

Has anyone used this for their cat? It's all-life stages. I'm praying it helps w/ the soft poop problem...

It's really good food. Which formula are you getting? It should help your kitten as the formulas are simple and easy to digest.

Umm...I think we got the dry food in Chicken/Brown Rice and the Wet in Deep Water Fish/Brown Rice.

He's on Chicken Soup for the Soul now, and his poops are the worst ever. I mean literally - not to be too graphic - but it's not formed at all really. He stepped in it, again, this morning. We had to clean him, sterilize everything he walked on, etc. :(

I feed my 2 cats Calif. Natural Herring dry kibble and they love it and their stools are firm.

I've used CalNat Chicken & Rice (dry) for years....including for one who had a problem with chicken "going right through her". I've never tried their canned.

If the food he's been on has chicken in it as the name would lead you to believe, he may be having a problem with chicken. If the CalNat gives him soft stools, too, that's what I'd suspect.

Thanks for all the advice! Hmm I thought about the chicken thing...he came to us on Purina ONE (which I think has chicken??) and had no issues (firm poops) but I ran out of that and I just thought since he was so skinny/had a cold/just came from the shelter I might help him by putting him on a ''better'' food.

I started mixing in the Cal Natural last night and this morning. He likes it, and I hope it helps him out!
