After Henry has been having a mad moment or three in the evening, I usually give him a couple of pieces of carrot and he becomes much calmer.

Is this because carrots have a soporific effect or could it be because he has calmed down anyway to eat something?

Do carrots have a similar effect on your dogs?

Marley gets carrots with her food everyday...I don't know if it calms her or not. She's pretty laid back anyway... but if they help, I'll be sure to keep giving them to her :)

Not sure if they have a calming effect, but Benji loves baby carrots!

What kind of carrots? Baby carrots or a big long one? Do you peel them? I'll have to sneak some away from my bunny to try with Cooper and Emma.

My dogs eat peeled mini carrots every day just for a treat...they all 3 love them. Last a long time and only cost $1.50 tops; think they are getting something special..I will see if I can note any calming effect in the future. have been feeding 2 of the dogs these for over a year now and never gave it a thought.
thanks

Mine also love baby carrots or carrot chips as treats. As far as the calming effect on Henry, I think that it comes more from a good chomping session than from any miracle molecule carrots have but who knows ?

I've ended up grating a carrot on top of my dogs' kibble. A couple of times Luna seemed to choke on larger pieces so I feel safer with grating. Carrots are a great source of fresh enzymes.
