Many people on Best Friends Network have been trying to save Sylvia, Lab.
SHE IS NOT PREGNANT-someone just called the shelter.

A rescue in AZ has said they will take Sylvia, who is going to be EUTH. SOON, AT Chattooga Shelter, in GA, if we can find a foster for her.
Foster could be in GA or AZ or anywhere in between.

Please e-mail me at: KVanSwearingen@jcaho.org, if you can help save her!!!!

I called the shelter on my way to work this A.M. and the fella that answered to me Sylvia had been ADOPTED!!!

Adopt A Lab was really working with us on Best Friends Network trying to help her. Don't know who adopted her, but I just wanted to say THANK YOU for the efforts of ADOPT A LAB.

Sylvia is STILL THERE!! My contact talked with Suzanne at the shelter. Sylvia was not adopted. From what I hear, this shelter had a lot of bad things happen there. She needs to be out by Monday!!

I sent an e-mail to the girl at Best Friends Network that was talking to someone in a Lab Rescue, but I don't know which state they were in, or if they will be able to do it in time. Not sure where the Lab Rescue was that she talked to and one of them needed someone to foster her for a week.

If you know anybody in Lab Resuce in GA, or anybody that can foster her, please save her.

Pls. contact a Lab Rescue in GA. By the time we could contact anyone or arrange anything from Illinois or Indiana it will be too late!

Blinky and Lily:

Bunch of girls at Best Friends Forum are still working on Sylvia.
We are trying to find someone who is licensed in GA to pull her from the shelter tomorrow, put her in boarding=then we will have to arrange transport to whatever rescue-Lab or otherwise, that can take her.

Indy Humane Soc., in Indiana said they'd take her. We haven't heard back from Lab Rescue in AZ or Ga YET.

Blinky, Thanks for saying you would foster Lily for a week and THANK YOU BOTH FOR YOUR HELP!! KEEEP watchng this thread or I'll private mail you.

Latest on Sylvia:

Say prayers. A friend on Best Friends has been working SO HARD ON THIS.
Lab Friends of SOuth are supposed to go pull Sylvia and others today, as far as I know. N.J. called shelter to tell them to hold Sylvia.

She and I are praying by making a donation for Sylvia Lab Friends of South -Believe they are in GA-will take her into their rescue. Otherwise, boarding and transport is very stressful for dog and it can be very costly. Hoping they will agree to our donation and give SYLVIA chance she deserves.

BLinky had offered to foster her in TX, but we hope she can stay nearby!
Thanks, Blinky, will keep you posted!

TO: Blinky, RE: Sylvia...
Lab Friends of South pulled her from Shelter. Thank God!!

She is at Town & Country Vet in Marrietta, GA-seems they do boarding and pet adoption at this vet also.

Vet is examining her to make sure she is NOT PREGNANT. It seems like the resuce is willing to take her since "NJ" (a nickname) and I offered to make a large donation, but if she is pregnant she made need a foster for 8-10 wks. and they don't have one.

PRAY SYLVIA IS NOT pregnant. I told them I only have a foster for a week. I don't know what we would do.

Not really angels at all. Just e-mail shelters alot.

Lab Friends of the south are the angels!!

Pray that they can find her a foster for 8-10 wks. IF SHE IS PREGNANT.

Still haven't heard from them-Sylvia was at the vet last time they e-mailed!!

That's great news! At least she is out of that shelter either way for now. I would foster her either way, but my husband may kill me! Keep me posted!!! TX would be a very long way for a pregnant girl to travel.

Good to hear. Lab Friends is the rescue I had been talking to. I used to be with them when they first started up. I knew they were pulling 3 others; so glad they managed to get Sylvia, too! Sylvia ... such a grown up name for such a little pup! Hopefully, she won't be preg and will get adopted soon!

Thanks Aoe. We are waiting to hear from Lab Friends or vet as to if she is preg. or not, because they said she'd need a foster for 8-10 wks. if she is preg. and they don't have one and neither do we.

Say big prayers.

Sylvia is safe at a vet in Marietta, GA. She is NOT PREGNANT and HW NEGATIVE!!

The Lab Rescue that pulled her is looking for a foster home for her.
Sylvia is SCARED-probably from being in shelter and vet.
Lab Rescue is picking her up this Saturday, unless they can find a foster home, or adopter, sooner.

They are getting me details on her age, etc. They say she is sweet.

Will Keep Everyone Posted!

Thank You and about Sylvia...
All I know is that she is at Town & Country Vet in Marietta, GA.
She is spayed. They have her on meds for hookworm and coccidia.
She is NOT PREG., AND is Heartworm NEGATIVE.
She is very sweet and scared probably from being in shelter and the vet.

Lab Friends of the South is DESPERATELY looking for a foster for her to get her out of vet by today. Pres. of Lab Rescue is picking her up Sat., if they can't before, to take her to an adoption day, but as far as I know they are STILL LOOKING FOR A FOSTER FOR HER.

It would be a GODSEND TO HAVE YOU.

Here is Jenny -Pres. of THE Labfriends of the South Rescue
E-mail.Jenny Joyce-Barbine [labfriendpres@gmail.com]

PLEASE let me know, too. We are all trying to find a foster.
