I think about feeding tuna to my pup. Anyone can share with me the experience about this!!! Can I feed him the canned tuna in brine?

pinnie,
i would be careful about giving anything with extra salt (brine) to puppy. i have not encountered tuna in brine before... can you wash the salt off or is it salty throughout?

also, what is the source of the tuna? some tuna contains a very high mercury level due to pollutants in the water that might not be safe for puppies.

all this aside, fish is GREAT for dogs.

Hi HappyHomer, thank you for your great advice. I really have no idea that we need to consider about the source of tuna and mercury level...which they affect our lab's health. I'll have to find out more info about it.

By the way, I am welcome your TUNA or other fish recipes if you have some to share with...
Have a nice day!

Pinnie, I feed Hogan some fish a few times a week and I think it really helps his coat. I usually give him sardines or Jack Mackerel (the cheapest i can find). Sometimes canned salmon when it's on sale. I always rinse off whatever it was packed in.

By the way, Ceasar relly looks like his mange is going away. He looks SO much better! I know you do a great job with him.
