Roxy's Family

Hi I need some input from you guys :) Say if I was going to switch Roxy's food from brand A to brand B... (left out name brands so I won't start the great food debate) Whats the best way to do it and if I start mixing the two at first how long until I go cold turkey and make the switch final? And at what age can I mix some other stuff in - carrots?- pnut butter-? fish-? etc... etc... I know we want to introduce just one thing at a time so we can see how she reacts to it. And im thinking she should be completely switched on her brand first and see how she's doing with that?
We always started by mixing about 3/4 of the old food and 1/4 of the new for about 3 days, then make it 1/2 - 1/2 for three days, then 3/4 new and 1/4 old for three days and then switch to the new completely. You can give a dog some carrots at any age. I used to give Daisy 4 or 5 baby carrots a day, but have cut that down because they're pretty high in sugar and she needed to lose some weight. She now just gets one as a treat every other day or so. Peanut butter is also high in calories, so if your dog has a weight problem, avoid it -- we only give it as a treat about once a week. Fish is fine -- good for the coat. Along with an egg -- some people give those daily, but we only do once in a while.
