Aloha!
In my family, we have a puppy, Beau (yes, my mom is Beau's Mum on this forum) and i wanna do agility with him. We are getting another pup today also. I havnt decided what to do with her yet. But I'm also gonna get an australian Shepherd for my good grades all year (YEAH!!) And i know i wanna both show and do agility with him/her. Now to my main point, does anyone know where i can find cheap agility equiptment (You have no idea how long it took meto spell that!!!) We have a HUUUUUUUGE backyard, so I wanna set up a track. Mom owes me like $200, and my grandma just sent me $50. That's all I have, so i would like to be some tunnels, and other useful stuff for the price of my budget. Can anyone help?
Also, this is VERY off topic, but does anyone know any aussie breeders around southern California?
I appriciate all your help!!!

I recommend you first get a good book - Introduction to Dog Agility by Margaret Bonham. $15 from Barnes/Noble (probably less on Amazon.com). It has valuable agility information in training and building your own equipment.
You can get some reasonable stuff on eBay - the regulation tunnels will cost between $85 and $120. The rest you can more/less build yourself.
But keep in mind you can't really train for agility until the dog is about 18 months or older (especially on anything to do with jumping - jumps/tires) The training facillity will not allow puppies.
You can introduce the pup to tunnels or a very low to the ground dog walk or A-frame. And the weave poles would be no problem. You want to make it fun and never train more then 10/15 mins at a time. You probably would be ok with an 8 inch jump for a pup over 9 months old. You don't want them to injure growing joints - that's why the restriction on age for formal training.
Also you might want to start checking out local training facilities so that when your dog is old enough for formal training, you like the place you pick.

Go to agility-equipment on yahoogroups.com
They have lots of people that are into agility. There are lots of people that will help you with building your own equipment. Also be certain to read the archives so you can find the pictures of the equipment. Cynthia
