Does anyone have any experience with this type dog food. I decided to give up on the IVD D&P, he just does not like it. I talked to the lady at the pet store today and she suggested I try this food for Jackson. I bought a small bag just to give it a try, I will mix it with his other food. I did give him a few bites and he gobbled it down. So I can assume this means he likes it. :) The price was $20 per 40 lb. bag. which I didnt think was too bad PROVIDED this diet is good for him. So I really hope someone has some experience with this that can be shared :)

I will type out the ingredients below. My main questions is, has anyone on the board given this food a try and can you tell me the pro's and con's with your experiences please? I just cant believe what to feed him after two years is still a major issue for us.. Please bear with me on typing the ingredients I need glasses for reading, so I may miss a few letters here and there..

Shadow's been on CSFTDLS for a few months now. She's doing well on it. I made the switch from Purina Fit & Trim b/c I had read about how bad it is for dogs.

On the positive side:
- I've noticed that Shadow's already beautiful coat has gotten even more beautiful. Very shiny especially when combined with regular brushing.
- I have some peace of mind knowing she's eating wholesome ingredients.

On the negative side:
- She's put on weight despite eating less food.
- She doesn't really like it as much as the former food.
- Her energy level seems to have waned, not increased.

I'm going to stick with this for a few more weeks and then I may switch it up.

I think some dogs need grains and oats and such. At least more than what's in CSFTDLS. My $0.02.

all i can say about csftdls is that when i worked at a farm supply store i had a customer who bought it faithfully for his dogs every week. he said that it was the best he could find because everything in it was real. when i asked him how he knew (I mean yeah, it says it's real, but how do you really know?)...he said because he ate some of it and he could taste it.

He ate some? oh boy, guess he wanted to make sure hey :) well I was told by the pet store lady that it had real duck but just the by products like my other food. So I found that to be a possitive thing. I do hope its good for him. Thanks momma2doc for your input too..:)

Jenna:

I tried something new last night:

I sprinkled about a shot glass worth of warm water over Shadow's food last night. It finally started to smell good! The second I put it down was the second Shadow woofed it down.

Of course, I mixed the very little bit of water with the 2 cups of food by hand. Try it. She was in heaven! Same thing this AM.

I've fed it and I like it a lot. That, Premium Edge, Canidae, and Diamond Lamb and Rice top my favorites for Jes.
