I just picked up the Califiornia Natural Chicken and am confused about what to feed. The Lamb & Rice says to feed 3-1/3 vs 5-1/4 for the Chicken. This is all based on the same weight and age for both products. It seems that this is a large amount to increase and I am concerned about this. Am I missing something here? Also wouldn't it be cheaper to use the Lamb as it requires less to feed the dog? How will this affect my dog by him eating this much more? Thanks for the help, I need it.

Those are just guidelines to go by. I don't follow what's on the bag and just go by how my guys are looking. If they start to put on weight I cut back. How much were you feeding before?

The CN Chicken and Rice Puppy has more kcal/cup than the CN Lamb and Rice Puppy so I would think you would be feeding less of the chicken.

Have you used the Natura site's feeding calculator? It's a fairly good predictor of what your dog might need to eat based on which formula, age and weight. Here is the link:

Hope this helps.

hmmm, I only fed her the chicken but I always fed WAY less than the bag or the calculator said. Lola is not huge though. I usually feed her 1.25 cups in the morning and night and kept it pretty much the same with the adult lamb and rice.

When my Kodie was 4 months old I fed him 3 cups of CN lamb+Rice a day. Now that he is 2 he gets 2.75 cups a day. Kodie is 67lbs & vet is very happy with that.
