I have a Nikon Coolpix 8700. I've had it 3 years. It has great megapixels, and the majority of the pictures turn out fantasic, great quality.

But I've noticed that it can be a little slow sometimes, with the actual taking of the picture. And I have also had trouble with different situations like gymnasiums, fireworks, nightime, indoor lighted stages which I guess would be considered a backlight.

I thought th is was a good camera........ is it just me not knowing how to use it properly?

My daughter has a Fuji Finepix F30 it takes great outdoor photos, not so great indoors with low lighting. I haven't checked out the delay on taking the photo...

I just seem to be missing alot of the "good" shots of Mousse

Yes the DSLR type camera types really help in all the situations. A good tip for the point and shoot cameras. Be ready ahead of time with your camera. To reduce the shutter lag have the camera ready with the shutter button pressed 1/2 way down, when the shot is perfect click it the rest of the way and it should be much faster (ie. hold the shutter 1/2 way as if you were using a video cam then click when you have the perfect photo). Big drawback to this technique is it really drains the batteries fast.
