View Full Version : DockDogs coming to Missouri, July 14-18. Sally and Hoppy will be there!
ChocolateDawg 06-06-2009, 05:56 AM Team 3 Dawg Flite (or part of it) is coming to Troy, MO, for some great dock diving. The event is July 14-18. I will be there jumping with Sally and Hoppy July 16-18.
Come out and see us jump....or better yet, come out and let your dog try dock diving!

dnk1999 06-10-2009, 12:45 PM It is about an hour and half drive from where I stay ... I might be able to make it up there and see you. I am in the process of talking to Gateway Dock Dogs and see if it is possible to join them even though Cadbury is not yet 6 months. I know she can't compete, but what would hurt if she could start practicing already?
ChocolateDawg 06-10-2009, 01:21 PM I'm sure you can join their club, even though your dog is so young. Swimming would be okay now, but I wouldn't jump him from the dock yet. Joints aren't ready until at least 6 months old.
Now is the time to work on swimming, retrieving, obedience, focus and skills that will enhance your dock diving experience.
Good luck....I'm sure y'all will have tons of fun. And I hope you can come to the Troy event. If you do, be sure to stop and say hi to us.

How close is Indiana to Troy, Missouri? :p:
shellbell 06-12-2009, 01:22 PM That is close to where I live, I would be interested in going...when you say "let your dog try dock diving", does that mean dogs can come too, even if they aren't competing? Can they actually participate in any events if they aren't competing? Tux is 10 months old....we are still working on getting him used to getting in water, and liking it, so I know he's not ready to dive off of a dock yet :). Would there be an opportunity at the event to see if he wanted to get into the water and swim any?
ChocolateDawg 06-12-2009, 04:51 PM This event is a regional club event, so I'm not 100% sure of their rules (like I know the National event rules), as different clubs have different rules. Give me a day or two. I'll find out for you. Check back here next week.

ChocolateDawg 06-15-2009, 10:17 AM I checked and the only dogs allowed at the venue are the ones competing in dock diving. Hope you can come watch us, even if you can't bring your dog. Or better yet, let your dog give it a try!!
PopTop 06-15-2009, 11:48 AM Sorry for the hijack - any chance you will be in the northern Illinois area this summer? Or events in that area.
dnk1999 06-15-2009, 11:50 AM doesn't look like I will be coming.... Cadbury will be getting spayed on the 16th......
