Has anyone tried baking their own treats for their pups? Any good recipes? I was considering trying this during the holiday season since I am going to be baking cookies like crazy anyway. :D
Would love any feedback you guys have on homemade dog treats!

We feed raw so these guys get no grains. But if you feed grains, then there is a whole world of recipes out there... google it and you will find tons.
As for my raw friendly treats-
Slice up sweet potatoes- just wash them, leave the skin on and bake them at a low temp for about an hour or so, to make chewy sweet potato 'chips'. If you bake them too long, they will get crunchy but they're still okay to feed.
We also dehydrate liver, and other animal 'parts'. Or you can cut up liver, boil it, and bake at a low temp, to make crunchy liver treats. They go nuts for that. :)

I have about 6 recipes that I bake each week(rotating them lol). The darn scanner is broken and when the computer crashed so did my recipe folder:mad: so I have no way of posting them, bar typing them all out.....may be I will do that this afternoon:o: If I find the time.
OR you can PM me with your home address I can post them to you, that way you can guarantee you will get them:)

I used to - now we're "no grains". But I have to say they liked my beefy biscuits a thousand times better than store bought! Go for it! Very easy and fun. You can't really screw up a biscuit recipe!

macy cant eat wheat.. so i've ammended some reciepies and made some of my own! her new favorites are banana oatmeal. thats about all that is in them. some milk, rice flour, and marshmellows for fluff. SHe loves them. she'll sit next to the counter in the kitchen waiting for them.
Any cookie recipie can be ammended. cut down to little or no sugar, adn pump up the fruit or add meat/stock to it. I make new recipies up all the time!!

Awesome!! The guys will love these. And the hubby will just have to roll his eyes at my making treats for the dogs. 'cause after reading some of the labels on store-bought treats--I'm not sure I want my boys eating things I can't even pronounce!!
