View Full Version : Dry Food Opinion Brandon82 10-13-2006, 04:03 AM Opinion Timberlabs 10-13-2006, 07:11 AM I personally don't care for these foods. I don't care for what's in them and prefer to feed a wheat, soy, corn, dairy and yeast free diet. hassyl 10-13-2006, 08:37 AM We started on Eukanuba lg. breed puppy- wasn't our choice. Bags came home from the breeder's- we got toys, info packet, pillows with the eukanuba logo on them. We also bought a 42" Midwest crate at cost from her. At 6 months, we switched to Diamond L&R and Summer's been on that since except for a couple of months when we switched to L&R from Nutro(?). Now we're back to Diamond (new formula-not sure-jury still out on it). Kaleena 10-13-2006, 09:35 AM Our lab is on Innova Adult....I'd like to try her on Innova Evo once she is old enough to see how she does. Kalah 10-13-2006, 09:56 AM I fed Kooper Nutro Natural Choice Large Breed sesser 10-13-2006, 09:58 AM The girls eat Natural Balance Duck & Potato with occasional raw meals. sprung_monkey 10-13-2006, 12:46 PM Sammi gets Natural Balance LabLover23 10-13-2006, 04:11 PM Pro Plan Chicken & Rice here 3dognite 10-13-2006, 04:24 PM Well, there you have it - "Other" is clearly the very best food there is. My dogs eat "Other" and never have ear, coat or flatulence problems. My two dearly departed ate mostly "Other" and lived to nearly 17 years old. (edited to add: Of course, my old chocolate girl ate Eukanuba for the last couple of years of her life, so I suppose the folks at PETA can claim it sent her to an early grave ;) ) Lovemylabby 10-13-2006, 05:05 PM I also voted for "Other"...I personally don't care for any of the foods mentioned here. LabLady101 10-13-2006, 06:32 PM "Other" here too. All three of mine are on NutriSource. Although my chocolate girl's breeder has always found success with Eukanuba and Iams. I don't think I'd ever go with Science Diet personally, but if it really works for your dog there's no reason to switch. Darcy:D HeatherGlenES 10-13-2006, 07:08 PM As long as it doesn't contain wheat, corn, or soy products and agrees with my dogs I'll give it a try. I prefer Eagle Pack Holistic but that's just my opinion and might not be right for your dog. Denis 10-13-2006, 07:10 PM Denis eats Trout & Sweet Potato from Pinnacle. Mr Kleb 10-13-2006, 07:15 PM 'Other' for me. I feed Corndog Innova Evo RF (Reduced Fat) as he is on a special diet, being a cancer dog. Stella and Achilles currently get Natural Balance Sweet Potato and Fish. All three get supplemental beef/poultry/fish as well as vegetables, fruit, yogurt, cottage cheese. These foods work best for my crew. Brandon82 I hope you don't feel bombed. There are some definite opinions around here about your first three options. Quack Quack 10-13-2006, 07:45 PM Eukanuba and Solid Gold action_jackson 10-13-2006, 09:52 PM Jackson gets Natural Balance Premium. We just switched but things seem to be going real well. Keep your fingers crossed!!! txnative 10-14-2006, 07:32 AM I agree with what most of the others have said - get rid of the corn and wheat and you'll be much better off. Read the stickies in the food/diet section for more information:) GussyandHudson 10-14-2006, 10:11 AM Other for us...I feed Eagle Pack agilitydog 10-14-2006, 11:26 AM other here also. I feed Canidae dogsdirtbike24 10-14-2006, 04:39 PM Other for all 3 of my guys. Innova Adult for Caleb and Eagle Pack holistic for Daisy and Homer. Miska 10-14-2006, 07:13 PM Other here also.. Dakota eats California Natural Herring and Sweet Potato (Made from the same company that makes Innova) Black Labbies 10-14-2006, 11:58 PM You forgot the option of "none of the above" :). Dad of Jes 10-15-2006, 07:04 AM Eagle Pack Original and part raw diet (less so now that I'm in school) JeffG 10-15-2006, 09:32 AM 2 paws way up for Eagle Pack Holistic Chicken and Rice!! ricky 10-15-2006, 08:18 PM Pro Plan BaileyBay 10-15-2006, 09:08 PM Other for us, we feed Canidae as well. kgpcr 10-16-2006, 07:43 PM I feed table scraps and my dog is doing great. None of the allergies that are talked about here. Timberlabs 10-17-2006, 08:13 AM I feed table scraps and my dog is doing great. None of the allergies that are talked about here. Can you define scraps? Scraps to me, are meant for the trash can, not my dog. If I'm going to feed ppl food to my dog, ( and I do..they eat partial raw) he's going to get the same quality organic meat and produce that I feed my family. You are one of the lucky ones who doesn't have a dog with allergies. One of my 3 labs has severe allergies and so far the other two show no signs at this point but I'm also very careful about what they are fed. Slow Hand Luke 10-17-2006, 09:19 AM other here too! kirkland lamb and rice Aligirl14 10-17-2006, 12:03 PM Tia gets Nutro Natural Choice Large Breed Adult Lamb & Rice. We tried others but she does best on this. There was a period when she would have to be coaxed to eat but now she's excited to eat. coopers mom 10-18-2006, 02:55 AM i have heard that it is good to rotate foods so as long as it doesn't contain wheat, corn, soy or chicken and cooper does well on it , its okay with me. so far my 2 main kibbles are eagle pack holistic and solid gold with occasional raw meals. PolarLacis 10-18-2006, 03:16 AM I feed Nutra nuggets large breed puppy and my pup looks great |
