Any input would be appreciated! chint77 03-29-2008, 10:16 AM I fed it a couple years ago,my dogs did pretty well on it before they added brown rice to their duck formula.Butters has issues with grain. jayzooks 03-29-2008, 12:47 PM Moose loves it but then again Moose would eat anything put in front of him. As for his stools, they are fine and firm, and no problems. I went to this brand because of the reviews, and vet and food store suggestions. ZenCat 03-29-2008, 01:09 PM I have read here that a lot of dogs do well on Eagle Pack. We tried the Eagle Pack Holistic Lamb & Rice, and neither of my dogs did well on it (huge, soft, frequent stinky poops, bad body odor). I have since learned that neither of my boys do well on lamb in any form, though. SD3 03-29-2008, 04:29 PM I have fed EP for three years first the holistic Fish, then Chicken and Rice. Prior to starting EP, I tried California Natural, Premium Edge and Canidae, all with varying degrees of success. In the final analysis, however, EP cleared up my dog's dry, flakey skin, and dull coat, normalized his weight, and ended recurrent, minor staph infections on his abdomen. Today, my dog is almost five years old, healthy and looks great! My only complaint is that EP's prices have increased substantially over the years, but then, so have the prices of everything else, I suppose. The bottom line is, it has worked well for my dog, and I can't argue with success. CaraBella 03-29-2008, 04:31 PM The girls ate the holistic puppy & did great on it:D JMP 03-29-2008, 05:08 PM I use EP and have for a few years. Every time I try to switch to something that is cheaper I always end up back with EP. I used the EP Natural which is more for larger breeds, for a long time with labs. Now we have large and small dogs and I am using the Holistic Lamb and Rice. (There is a coupon on the website and most Pet Supplies Plus do the buy 10 bags and get the 11th free. I am currently feeding 5 dogs so this really helps.) Good Luck with you search. Lovemylabby 03-29-2008, 06:04 PM We use the Eagle Pack Holistic line and have been for quite some time. Toby does excellent on this food...I have never experienced a problem and Toby is as healthy as can be! :thumb4: uplander 03-29-2008, 07:32 PM Excellent customer service and food. One of the WDJ top companies because they own their manufacturing plant and make food from Human grade ingredients. So many companies today outsource their operations. They seem to take pride in their products. I know many who feed it to their hunting Labs for great energy. Noel's Mom 03-30-2008, 07:41 AM I fed Noel EP Holistic Lamb and Rice for a couple of months and she did pretty good on it the short time I fed it. Actually she was eating Solid Gold Hund & Flocken and they were out of it, so the lady suggested EP Holistic Lamb and Rice. I went to Canidae L&R after that for a little bit because of the price. She had soft poops on the EP, Solid Gold and the Canidae so I switched to Purina Pro Plan Selects Salmon and Rice about 3 weeks ago and she's doing great. Firm poops, coats fine and no gas! I would have probably stayed with the EP or the Canidae, but I have to drive so dang far to go get it. I can get the Purina PPS up the street at PetSmart which is a huge plus for me. Sharon17 03-30-2008, 11:14 AM Thank you all for your input and feedback. Think I am going to give Eagle Pack a try for my boys. Heard very good things regarding this brand. Will let you know how it goes! |
