My camera can take either *, **, or *** photos. I took them all at * that way they are only KB and not MB. The way I post them all that way is that I have a free account with Shutterfly and I import all my pictures there. When I finish importing, I open the pictures I want to post, right click and a menu pops open. There I click properties, highlight the web-address listed next to address. I come back to the post, lick the IMG button next to the @ sign and paste that address on there. I basically keep two windows open at the same time so I can copy and paste easily.

Let me know if you need more help. That way using shutterfly, you'll be able to post your MB pictures much easier.

I was wondering if Bailey and Theo had any similar squirting issues, since they were part of the hard-core trio.

Perhaps my Gripper has a leak???

I posted a thread in General Health (in true worrywort form!). We stopped halfway home and he had an ENORMOUS pee. Didn't geyser again till half a mile from home but yeah, I'm going to have to shampoo the back seat upholstry :scared: . Now he's drinking and peeing in equally massive amounts. He ate with gusto, and has a happy look on his face, but he's staggering and obviously sore. Next time I'm going to enforce the rest/fresh water time outs with more conviction!!!!

I must say that I don't think this dog has EVER been happier than he was today. Ever.

Woohoo! Great pictures everyone! I just got home and the very first thing I did was check for this thread! I'll be viewing my pictures soon and will post them asap. We would've been home sooner but I had to stop for 20 minutes to sleep. I just couldn't keep my eyes open and traffic was horrible.

Oh, yeah, you can I just tell you how friggin' sun burnt I am? Holy sun burn batman! YEOUCH! Why didn't anyone ask me about sunblock BEFORE we were done playing in the sun??? Wonderful pictures... all of them! I can just imagine how much fun that was for everyone... two legged and four legged. It looks like you had the whole beautiful place to yourselves.

LOVE the group shot... that's one for the scrapbook for sure!

ZenCat, I think Drum is SO handsome... I love the pictures of him laughing!

BTW... how did that work out? Did the husbands get together and discuss their crazy lab-obsessed wives?

I'm also wondering if "Mr. Smitty" admitted that getting together with lab-board friends isn't so crazy after all!

Bailey too has the squirts.. He always gets a little runny though when he is running around and drinking tons of lake water. The ocean water was a new one for him though. He too had an enormous pee... and it started IN THE CAR about 20 feet from Greg's parents house... So Zen, when you are done with that upolstery cleaner send it our way!! oh well, I knew he was gonna have to go..

Well i'm off to download. I didnt take tons of pics, but we shall see what I got!

Oh boy...Olive has the squirts especially bad tonight, too. We stopped at a rest stop on the way home and it was so bad I had to send my husband back into the shops to get some paper towels. Olive had it all over her back side and I was the lucky one who got to clean her up. How fun. Other then that, she slept the whole way home!

Hey everyone, Tom went out to the 24 hours store and got armfuls of pedialyte (electrolyte replacement liquid for kids) for Grip. Better than just water for the workout these guys had today in the heat and salt water. If you don't have any around the house (and if you do I am IMPRESSED) you might want to consider it, especially with the squirts!

Am glad to hear my dog isn't alone though, I was wondering if maybe he had a leak somewhere.

Everyone's pictures are SO beautiful!!! I just keep starting this thread over from the beginning and looking at them all again.

So sorry to hear about everyone's squirts! Grip's car-squirt didn't smell like anything, I wouldn't have known it happened if I hadn't heard it (like a faucet!!). I'm gonna shampoo it tomorrow though, just the same. Ew.

Christine: Thank you! We were so very proud of Drum. He was on his absolute BEST behavior all day today. Often at the dog park he's a big bounding arrogant snot, but he was just perfect today and I hope everyone will consider him an "honorary lab" for future fests!

Absolutely, positively marvelous photos!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Looks like everyone and their dog(s) had a BLAST!!!

Hope no one minds that I've borrowed some of the pics for my computer wallpaper? To be honest with you, the only dog whose name I know for sure is 'Drum' the Greyhound, for some reason he stands out ;). All the other photos are labelled in my picture album as black, yellow and chocolate Labs. There are too many to remember :D . BTW, all your dogs are gorgeous, and so is the scenery!

Thanks for sharing your exciting day :D .

Don't feel bad, I'm in the same boat as you...the only one I remember is Drum also, mainly because he stands out.

However, Bailey and Mia are now regulars too, for obvious reasons.

I'm able to put some names and labs together now, but still need help from time to time.

It looks like everyone had such a great time. I wish it would have been closer to us so we could have joined in. I couldn't wait to see the pics, read the captions, see how everything went. I kept looking at the clock today wondering if everyone showed up, what they were doing about now, if things were going ok...and I didn't even get to go! Thanks for sharing the pics, I feel like I was right there with you guys. You all are great!

It was a great time. After a good nights sleep, Bailey and I are both recovered from the walk and the hours in the sun.

One of the things that I thought was the greatest was the fact that everyone got along so well. Perhaps one or two warning growls or nips. But that was it. With the toys, the food and everything- every lab did great.

Also was the fact that no one took off for destinations unknown. There was a few that may have thought about it and strayed a bit- but basically everyone stayed close to the group. By the way ZenCat, I was very impressed with Drum being off leash on the walk down and staying within sight. Hope someday Bailey behaves like that.

Question: Bailey did not get any squirts, but he has been licking his feet like crazy, anyone else doing that?

malweth
07-18-2004, 08:08 AM
Hehehe....my motivation for getting up this morning was to see if anymore pictures were posted. And oh course there were. Great pcitures Melissa...love the one where Drum is telling Mia and Bailey to get a room.

Zencat...Drum was great but I think you should have rented him out like a horseback ride for that long walk back to the car!!

Jen...Toby's not licking his feet but we hosed him down as soon as we got home (he was kind of smelly.) Maybe Bailey has salt or sand stuck in feet?

First off, I want to say that we had a wonderful time meeting all your furkids and you!!! We can't wait to do it again. Heather, Peter, myself, Riley, and Gusty hung out with Mickey's Mommy and family for a bit before heading home.

We had minimal squirts here last night, but the pups did not eat their dinner at all..oh well! Not surprisinly, Riley was ready for ball play aroun 6pm...that girl has stamina.

Thank you Julie & Greg for the wonderful cake, Sarah the calendar is awesome and Debbie (Smitty) for the name tags, magnent, and pic book.

WHO put dog toys in my jeep? WHO put a labfest magnent on my jeep...THANK YOU THANK YOU. I was so surprised...and the lab magnent made it the whole ride, I never saw it.

I apologize for Kasey's nips/barks a bit....not sure what go in to her. All in all it was a great day.

Oh, I got burnt pretty bad....Black Olive I'm so sorry you had to drive all the way. Just so you know, IF you come up again, you ARE going to stay with us....no doubt about it.

Okay, now that I"m done talking....I'll post my pics.

How bad is your burn today, Kris? My nose has these really painful blisters, nothing else blistered like that but boy does it hurt like it did. I really fried yesterday LOL Aloe lotion is my best friend right now.

I don't think that's my Olive w/ the Frisbee. I'm thinking maybe Zeus? But that last shot, yes, that's my Olive. Great shot!! THANKS!

Excellent idea about posting albums, Black Olive. I posted the link to my album (containing all 33 pictures) at the end of my pictures. Hope the link works. I'd love to browse everyone else's too.

And well said about how well everyone behaved! I've been to human parties with plenty of people I know where I didn't feel so relaxed and happy!!! It's so funny, I love my pets, but don't really have special relationships with too many Other People's Pets and every pup I patted, watched, got kissed by (Olive gave me quite a necking!) and leaned on by just FILLED me with love.

I will never forget this day and sincerely hope Lab Fest East Too (Southbury Dog Park anyone???) can be as well attended.

We also need our Masterminds to think of SOME way we can ALL get together for one big international Lab Fest.

By the way Malweth, my boys are licking their feet too and what's worse, Brude's feet are blistered and BLEEDING!!!! Can not believe this kid didn't do more than make grouchy faces. We chided him for lagging until we actually SAW his feet and then we were devestated with a tidal wave of unfit parenting guilt. He goes out with daddy to the mall today for brand new sneakers :(

Black Olive
07-18-2004, 11:35 AM
Oh no! Did Olive give you wet willies, too? Actually, Olive loves to kiss and we don't discourage it but instead encourage it...so it's our own fault that she thinks everyone wants a kiss from her. :o:

I'm sorry to hear about Brude's feet. I hope they heal quickly.

How's everyone who had the squirts doing today? Olive hasn't pooped yet (what's she waiting on??) but she is a total GRUMP, so I know she's not feeling well. Although she's not too grumpy to give her camel a good humpin'.

My mom said "That's an awful long way to go for a play date." LOL What's funnier is that we would do it again w/out giving it a second thought.

Melissa, Olive gave me one of the two best dog-kisses I've ever had, and I was honored that she bestowed it on me!!! (Grip is the other... his first-thing-in-the-morning piggy-grunt gratitude kisses melt my heart every day).

Haven't seen either of the dogs poop today either. We're all slugging around today... I ache ALL OVER (middle aged out of shape thing that I am). Tom and Brude are reading Harry Potter on the sofa, I'm here dwelling on Lab Fest photos, Grip's slung over his leather armchair like an artfully draped throw, and Drum is flung across our entire queen sized bed on his back with his legs splayed out to the four points of the compass.

I don't see that any of these postures are going to change much over the next few hours.

malweth
07-18-2004, 11:59 AM
Poor Brude...he definately is a trooper for walking that long distance back to the car with his feet in such rough shape.

Toby seems to be pretty much back to normal. Thank goodness his was only a quick bout with the squirts. He is sleeping again...it was a tiring day for the little guy.

Our pictures are not on shutterfly but they are on a web server that Zeke subscibes too. So you are welcome to use any pictures you want, but you will have to save them to a cd and bring them in somewhere to be developed.

Good idea about the albums. The pictures came out great! Can't wait to order some. Hope everyone is feeling well (2 and 4 leggers). Achy shoulders over here, but Mia has been playing with Frankie and Ellie all last night and today. I on the other hand got home and barely made it to the computer to post pictures! Showered and straight to bed. I was pooped. A little pooped today, but enough energy to let Mark take me to Federal Hill for a nice dinner (making up for not being there yesterday, you should all see the bouquet of flowers he came home with!!!)

I don't ache, at all. HOWEVER - my sunburn couldn't possibly hurt any worse. I have a HUGE, ugly blister on my nose, along w/ many smaller ones. Poor Brude, what a good sport he is. Zen, you must be so proud of him. I didn't hear him complain once! Not about the walk, not about the heat, he wasn't bored, he didn't want to go home NOOOOW. He was so pleasant and charming, and a good conversationalist. And your husband. WHAT A GENTLEMAN carrying my cooler. I felt so bad. You are one lucky gal with a house full of wonderful men.

I would like to just compliment all the men that were there yesterday for being such awesome sports and hanging in there with us.

Poor Greg had to haul that cooler...now HIS shoulders must be killing... :(

Aloe is my best friend right now. However, Olive thinks the aloe lotion tastes like candy and keeps trying to lick it off.

So how long do we think that walk, one way, really was?? That was brutal! lol Even Olive had to stop a few times on the way back to the car.

I thought I was fine this morning. I was SO wrong. I was ready for sleep like two hours ago. Quite a bit of exercise for one day. Bailey and I went for a little walk before dinner time. He was barely in the mood. I don't think he got more than 3 feet away from me the whole walk.

HeatherA: I'm sending you a PM- I'd love an e-mail with the group shots- so I can print want out bigger for my bulletin board at work

Sarah
07-18-2004, 07:57 PM
Jen, I think Bailey misses his girlfriend. Puppy love is hard to get over ;) Mia kept looking around all day, almost suspicious of anyone coming up behind her!

Melissa, I had to drag Mia from the puddles on the way BACK to the car she was so eager for a rest. You know how hard it was on the way there...

I would say the walk was about 2-2.5 miles. At least that's how it felt on my poor shoulders! Mark and I are going back soon, since it is pretty close to our place, but bringing much less gear this time. Anything I do bring I'll carry on my back, no more lugging with the arms. I'll bring a pedometer and measure officially!

Oh Lisa I'm so sorry about Brude's feet!

You guys really are the best, we had such a great time. Oh I did forget to tell you that we started the lab fest morning off with Riley puking two huge piles on the living room floor that I just steam cleaned. Perhaps she was emptying out her guts for all the fine food she was going to get!!!

I'll have to make a link for my pics. I'm sooo tired...park yesterday, pool party today. The girls, they are chasing a tennsi ball around the house at 9:14pm at night.

BTW, JenQ...when we left, there were about 4-5 tennis balls all the way on the other side of the water!!!

Well, I bought the balls just for the event. So, I don't mind. Hopefully, someone will get some enjoyment out of them if they float back to the right side.

I think we (Jen, Sarah & I) estimated it at about 2.5 miles based on Jen's daily walking time plus our own sun-curdled imaginations. I had nothing to offer to the estimate... I was in that childbirth frame of mind where I knew the pain would be over eventually if I just kept gritting my teeth). I'll bet if we did it again, with less gear, it would be a snap. Distances always seem farther the first time you travel them.

Yes, I am SO lucky with my boys. They are both gentlemen, and always open to new adventures and I consider myself lucky to have them, and to have their support for anything I'm enthusiastic about (like Lab Fests!!!)

Easy on the Advils, S&M! Don't take too many, you'll bust your liver. What about a nice long soak in epsom salts and LOTS of hydration!!!

and can I just say i LOVE everyone's new sig pics!!!

Wow! I have had such a blast looking at all of your beautiful pics from the LabFest. It is so fun to see all of the furbabes (and humans!) together like that. What a perfect place...lovely beach. So glad everyone had a good time, and thanks for sharing. Wish Sasha and I could've joined all of you :) , but it is a little far from California. ;)

Hmmm..I may have to wear a pedometer next time. The entire island we were on is only 3.5 miles around and we didn't get to the1/2 way point so I'm not sure how long it really was. You are right, the first time you walk it, it seems like forever.

I love the b/w signature pics you have.

Awesome, awesome, awesome pictures everyone!!! Avery and I were both sad on Saturday knowing you guys were having your labfest and we couldn't be there. Avery doesn't like the car, but I tell you if he did, we would've been there for sure!!!

Hello all.. I am on day 2 of "recovery" and am quite relieved that I dont work during the summers! I know i know... Dont hate me...

So greg and I got daring and golfed 18 holes yesterday. (And we walked it!) It was fairly early in the day and the pain hadnt quite set in from the day before. Needless to say, we both fell asleep at about 8pm last night and I just woke up at 11! I havent dont that since college! Oh and I had never ever golfed on a course before, so i was using all sorts of muscles that I never knew existed. Everything hurts, but it was worth it to see the pleasure on those doggies faces! Bailey is still also in recovery mode, but definitely almost back to his old hyper self!

Thanks again for everything! It was a blast!

We were so determined to get there, that my toddler's oopsie in the car, the goof we made in losing the directions, and how lost we got trying to wing it without them made it like the quest for the holy grail. It was so worth it, both Mickey and my daughter were happily pooped out, and they just had the best time!

I've got a million pics, mostly of Mickey pestering poor Theo. I'll try to get my USB connections up and running on this machine so I can upload them!

Just judging from the quick meeting with Black Olive, I think she's a soul sister to Mickey; as much of a nudge as he was, she was able to give it right back and then some! You go gurl!

I can't get over what a couple of good babies GusJack's Mommy has! I know I'll miss that squeaky-excited bark someday, but it sure would be nice if I could get a few minutes of Mickey behaving a bit more like your 'kids'.

I can't tell you how embarrassing the water-poo was, or the new 'piggy back' performance he tried out! Mickey's good for testing out Mommy's blush mechanism.

Should we post the group shot for the photo contest? If not I may post the picture that JP sent me of Theo or one of Grip, Bailey and Theo waiting for the ball. What do you guys think?

BTW - someone should enter that one of Mia and Bailey(choc). Talk about fun in the sun!!:brow:

I think Bailey and Riley & Kasey could be related...at the gathering I kept thinking Bailey was one of my girls. He is only taller..!

I totally agree! I kept thinking your girls were Bailey, and when my mother was looking at all the pics online, she kept thinking the same thing! And they are both from CT?? Coincidence? I dont know! Your girls are way better behaved! :)

Other than Kasey getting snippy, I was pretty proud of them. They walk much better on their prong collars now, and even though I have not done a lot of training with them. They did pretty well. Thanks for the compliment. Gusty is in her own world and really a well behaved lab. Kudos to her original owner!

I was quite proud of my Olive, too. After all of the behavior issues we've dealt with I was quite pleased w/ her behavior. Especially after a 5 hour drive! She didn't even get nervous when people petted her...for some reason when we got to places like PetsMart, she gets nervous when people pet her. I guess she knows a group of Lab lovers when she sees them!

I personally think that everyone's dogs were just awesome on Saturday.

They all behaved well, regardless of a little nipping, or humping, or peeing in the water, or RUNNING OFF TO PRACTICALLY NEW JERSEY like Mia.

For being in a totally new place with a pack of dogs they have never met, and people that are all over the place with cameras, I thought they were cool, calm, and collected. Kudos to all of them for behaving better than most children would (with the exception of Brude and Eric who you can obviously take anywhere!)

Thanks...Eric has been one of those kids who was always very good. My sister's friends used to ask if they could take him places. He was not very sociable on Saturday....he was up till 1am the night before...after being scared by The Butterfly Effect...no more scary movies for him!
Brude was very, very good.

I agree, Eric seemed like an extremely nice boy! I was so focused on all my friends (human and canine) that I didn't get to speak with him, and Brude was feeling very shy as well and was pretty much on auto-pilot ("You can go anywhere and do anything so long as we can still see you."). He was so exhausted afterwards that he didn't really say much about the day but yesterday when the plumber came, Brude chatted his ear off about the event and all the fascinating things he found in the water and along the shore.

I think I would have broken down by now and gone to one of those internet cafe places and paid some crazy fee. Is it nuts to admit that I did that once from Rome? ;) :D

Welcome home! I hope you had a great time in Italy. Can't wait to see pics of your trip!

East Coast LabFest 2 is already in the works. Hope you'll be able to make it to that one (Mia and I won't, she started her heat 1 week before beying spayed :( )

P.S. I vote for changing the name of these fests to "Labrapalooza"!

Thanks for the welcome home. I'm SOOOO glad to be back. Too bad about you guys not making the next one, but maybe it will be late enough that you guys would still be able to come. I love Mia's pic in your sig. She is beautiful! Hunter took one look at her and told me he wanted HER for a sister - probably wouldn't nip/bite him like Brandie still does!

I took lots of pictues, but I won't post all - I'd probably blow up the board!

Hi Guys - I'm home from my 10 day vacation! We really had
a wonderful time meeting you all and your furbabies at the
LabFest! Mr. Smitty couldn't say enough nice things about every single person at the event - he even talked about everyone and the good time we had to our camping pals!

Arrived home in RI yesterday (Sunday) and as soon as I can find my film and camera, I'll get the pictures from that day developed!
I took a lot of pics in the parking lot and on the path going to the beach - you know the hop, skip & a jump walk we had! :floor:

By the way - I keep looking at all the pictures taken from that wonderful day we shared! The group shots are awesome!
It was a pleasure meeting all of you! Wish we could have spent more time with Mickey'smom - they arrived when we were leaving!

If we're voting; put me down for Labrapalooza too.

I'll catchya on the next one Smitty, Mickey should be back up to his usual silly-level by then! (and I already know Southbury, I used to live in Danbury...so there's no worry about getting lost!)
