i noticed our pup eating her own poop ... is this normal?

Some dogs do this. Sophie did as a puppy.

Teach "leave it". Also pick up as soon as she goes to avoid leaving it out for her to eat.

You must pick up as it hits the ground to discourage this behavior.

Also, grain free foods can help deter this.

this explains alot, Tucker will finish his deposit, turn around and sniff it...and walk off.
Never once has he eaten his poop...neither have any of the other pups

oh no....we feed grain free and she still eats it. Ick.

Define normal?! Let's just say it's all too common. You can doa search and try all the remedies to see if they work, but the only thing that works for us is vigilently watching and picking it up. Leave it will work 75% of the time. We are working on it. And look how cute she is too........... silly girl!

I have the same problem with Buddy. I just walk around the yard with shovel in hand while dogs are playing in yard.

Unfortunately very common. Keep in mind that you may need to be extra diligent about brushing teeth. It tends to do a number on teeth, or at least that's what I have seen in dogs that do eat poo.
