After talking to Lynn and hearing some of the stuff the dogs have to do, I thought I'd try it with Scooby last night. The one I was concern with was to only obey the come commands addressed to the dog and not to other's 'come'

Well, I did a version of that with Scooby and Shaggy doing a sit stay.
So far so good. But every time I call to Shaggy to come, Scooby will come too! suprisingly, when I call Scooby first, Shaggy would stay sitting, but Scooby...well...he's too eager to please and will do all the commands I ask no matter whom I'm talking to!

My DD was cracking up because it ended up being a jumble of 'come', "no, stay", "no, not you", "Oh, Scooby!!", "just Shaggy" etc, etc and lots of laughing.

If we proceed with this, it'll be a LOONG uphill climb!

It's always one thing that's hard. For Nittany, when they put a hotdog in her face and told her to leave it, she was kinda like "But it's a hotdog!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Then our trainer screamed at her and she will leave it every time now!!

If it makes you feel better Eriko, when we took the TDI test, they only had one dog at a time do the sit/stay. So, if Scooby knows sit/stay, you'll be fine. I think the hardest one for him might be the "leave it!" That was easy for Lola since she never gets human treats and very rarely gets dog treats.

It seemed to me that they were basically looking for a relatively calm, well mannered dog and a competant handler. Some of the dogs that were tested, would not sit or stay and they still passed them:confused: Who knows!
