Anyone tried this food? I'm still looking for a food to rotate with for Charlie and a lot of holistic foods just don't work for him. CN lamb and rice does, but the protein and fat are just too low and the puppy version is not easy to get here. Plus I want to rotate different meat sources. His breeder fed Eukanuba. I did try this earlier and Charlie threw up on one of the meals, but I am not convinced it was the food. I know it has corn meal in it - let's not get into that please. The protein is 28%, the fat is 18% and carbs are 36%. Just want to know how dogs have done on it - that's all if you know what I mean.

Thanks,
Nancy

We had Tater on the 30/20 and he did Really well on it....Hes very active and we only fed 2 cups a day....We switched because i wasn't to thrilled with the ingredients. Its not the worst i just wanted to try something else....if your dog is active then i would give it a try....like i said tater did well on it.

Bailey was on Eukanuba as a pup per her breeder. I had no problems with Eukanbuba.
Right now I have her on another food but I will be rotating this food back in during the winter months.

Eukanuba is a nice middle of the road food with all the ingredients named...

Hoping it works .....but be prepared for weight gain if Charlie doesn't get a lot of exercise...or make sure to feed less if he does start to gain weight....It always makes some sense to feed more protein up to 30 % for any dog....but most people hate only giving small portions to their dog...

BTW.. I just picked up my first bag of Fromm Family Surf and Turf..,, It smelled and looked so edible I tried a piece...tasted like roasted potatoes....

I also bought the stores first bag of EVO Fish....That smelled great too... took a piece and chewed.....wish I hadn't....very fishy:D Satch loves them both....:D

Chloe's doing fine on the Eukanuba Large Breed Puppy that her breeder had her on, but I don't think any of my dogs are active enough for the formula you are asking about.

Truthfully, I am a little worried about a weight gain. All of their other formulas have barley in it which I swear causes eye boogers for Charlie so I try to stay away from it. Charlie is at his ideal weight right now and the vet said no more.

Then I wouldn't use this formula.

Between fly ball, dock diving and being out in the field this is why we have used the active formula.

What do you feed when you're not feeding this one?

Charlie is active, but not that active :D

Healthwise makes an Active formula -chicken based w/out barley -its a 30/20 if I remember.

Ok -if you're having a hard time finding CN maybe healthwise too.

Have you tried Eagle Pack Holistic -the have several formalus w/out barley

I have fed ZiwiPeak all summer. I rotate between the 3 flavors.
ZiwiPeak is very pricey but you could use as a topper like those do with EVO (just a thought). I know people who use the canned food as well mixed with the kibble they feed.

This is by far Bailey's favorite.

Thanks for the tips about ZiwiPeak, Eagle Pack and Healthwise. ZiwiPeak is another food not offered around here easily. I can find Healthwise, but they don't carry the Active formula. Eagle Pack is easily found - I had forgotten about that one. I might go look at their website.

Thanks,
Nancy

Nancy We actually switched him to Solid Gold Bark at the moon....But we found out its made by Diamond...We Just picked up a bag of EVO chicken and turkey they other day...Well be starting that once most of the solid gold is gone....One thing though....Make sure your dog is Active with the Euk performance or hell put on weight...I would start at 2 cups a day and see how he does...

EP Holistic Select is always my fail safe (they all do great on it)...I could easily rotate between the Lamb, Chicken, or the Duck...never tried the fish one. The only reason I ever stray away is I get sucked into trying something new that never seams to work :) Actually was at the pet store tonight and will probably go back tomorrow and buy a bag...was definitely glad they got rid of those 1970's looking bags!

Mine were fed Eukanuba as pups and several years after...Dogs did extremely well on it, in all honestly one of the best foods results wise they have had...BUT the reason I switched was the negative pub from their testing sites...saw some pretty horrific under cover footage that I can never get out of my mind. Even if they have changed, I will never forget those images.
