I have been reading all about this RAW diet, I am thinking about adding some raw to Indie's kibble. What can I include? (rabbit, squirrel, other game animals, chicken, etc.) Also, can a lab eat kibble with other raw meats..........mac

I'm currently feeding one meal of raw (breakfast), and one of kibble (dinner). I hope to resume our fully raw diet if the price of meat every comes back down to a reasonable level, or my dh gets a raise!
I give my boys chicken necks, or cut up rabbit. I've had a few problems with wings, but others seem to do just fine with them.
I think it's wiser NOT to combine kibble and raw at the same meal; their bodies digest raw meat & bones and kibble quite differently.

at present, my dogs get raw turkey necks for their dinner. kibble in the morning, however. so the raw is fed separate.

thank you both for the replies so far, I do hope to hear more about the wild game though! Off topic but Emmapie, you aren't too far away from me, I live in the Holland area.

Hey Zencat-
I get chicken frames from Sysco ( a national restaurant distributer) for 14.45 /40 lbs.
Surely you know someone at a restaurant, and they probably deal with Sysco. Why don't you give it a try!

We're not raw feeders, but will be soon,...sort of. Vet wants us to feed them raw turkey necks, so we'll give it a try. Already ordered some.
We feed our Labs a homemade diet; similar to raw, but the meat is slightly cooked. The wonderful bonus to a homemade diet is that our girls' teeth are becoming puppy white again (ages 7.5 and 5.5yo). The vet was very please :D .
